How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Only suggestion would be access to a washing machine.
Lovely apartment. Enough to make your stay enjoyable and have the occasional meal in the room. We had take away some nights in the room. Rooms were a decent size for Europe and we were able to fit our portable cot in our room also. Staff were friendly and helpful.

A newly renovated apartment with all modern conveniences like central AC in both both the bedroom and sitting area. The kitchen was stocked with paper towels, dishes, cooking pots, and both an expresso machine and tea kettle. The staff was very helpful calling taxis, giving information, etc. The apartment is within 10-15 minutes walking distance of everything and close to the airport.

The rooms were large and well designed for our comfort. Especially liked the small private garden area! The property was located in the city center close to shopping and walking areas, and the staff were kind and helpfully advised about parking options nearby.

The place is so modern, clean and the bed was awesome. I was sick at the time so the bed was just perfect as I crashed and slept for hours. Luckily the city doesn’t sleep, so after I woke up late, we could still go out to have food. The hotel has easy in-out access by using the code, so it was seamless and super convenient.

The location is perfect and the room was very comfortable and modern. In the evening we couldn't hear any outside noise which was good too. I would definitely recommend this accomodation!

Not an issue with the property itself, but the streets are a maze around this area 😵💫 had to rely on Google Maps every single time I went back to the hotel. Kind of a jokey negative (sort of) but there are a million light switches lol. It's great once you figure it out and offers a ton of comfortability, but at first it's really overwhelming and we were constantly guessing which one was which!
Wonderful little modern apartment. Had everything just as described, and then some surprises I didn't expect like late-night room service for those days we were dead tired after adventuring out. To get in/out of the complex and room you use PIN codes to open an electric lock. At first this kind of put me off as I'd become accustomed to the key system used at other places we'd stayed in Greece. After having used it, IT IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN KEYS. No worrying about leaving the power on, no coordinating who was going to be back at the room first if we were splitting up and had to decide who kept the keys, one less thing in my pocket. It was so nice and something I wish more hotels would do. The location is relatively central? About 7 mins walk to the nearest tourist area. So not bad.

Great place very close to everything in the center of Heraklion. Parking is close by and they advised best places to park. The place is mostly self-service, but everything you could want.

Roomy well equiped apartment with lift on edge of old town. All top sights an easy walk. Super quiet. Comfy bed. Friendly super helpful staff. Amazing app for location & info of everything including amazing restaurant recommendations.

I happen to be there at low season, so there was construction going on in front, but it wasn’t too loud
It was a wonderful location overlooking the water in a renovated Venetian home.. It was lovely interior with attention to detail and amenities. The staff were welcoming and helpful

The area is a bit neglected. But considering that is 2 min away from the center its worth every penny.

The location (near the city) meant that there was the usual Friday-evening/Saturday-evening noise of people going out. In one of the bedrooms, there was a smell from a kitchen below.
We were travelling with my elderly mother. The staff went out of their way to accommodate our special needs and were extremely friendly.
