It has that traditional aura, everything seems in the right place. You are in the middle of the town but no noise at all. Complimentary sweets and raki ☺️ Mind the stairs.

Eirini has single-handedly made a marvel of the traditional house. The photos don't do it justice, we were left in awe as soon as we got inside. The level of detail is astonishing and the room manages to balance between tradition and modern needs perfectly. Definitely recommend!

Parking was not available but we were told by the owner there were spots about 2 blocks away.

It was a classic traditional Greek accommodation. The owner was very welcoming and responsive. The location was perfect for going to local restaurants.

We had a little bit of trouble finding the entrance gate. It is about 20 ft off the main street and opens to a large courtyard

...that I returned after a week with my wife to enjoy the cozy feeling of this place. Also, the small town of Archanes was the best place to see Cretan life and mingle with locals.

Lovely apartment in the centre of Archanes. Nice quirky industrial design - we loved it! A minute walk from a square with a great selection of tavernas, but the apartment itself is quiet. The landlady is lovely.

The cretan Filoxenia: they welcomed us with delicious grapes and homemade cookies. The apartment has everything you need and you can enjoy a beautiful view of the garden. The decoration is very tasteful and warm.

The evening we arrived there was a dinner party of family and friends (covid restrictions had just been relaxed). We were immediately invited to join the festivities. We declined dinner but joined afterwards and were placed at top of table, a position of honour as well as in deference to our covid hesitation. A great evening of true Cretan hospitality.
