Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Friendly, helpful staff, great location. The manager was amazing and upgraded us to all inclusive as our flight was cancelled, He saw our daughter was very upset about not getting home and did everything to reassure her and help settle us in, making sure we had a lovely dinner and put us in a lovely room too. Great service at last minute emergency booking with many other people helped that evening too.

United KingdomThe decor is old and the room has a sewage smell no matter how clean the bathroom is and the amount of air freshener used. There were chipped tiles and the sink taps looks old and rusty. Windows needed a deep clean. Dining bowls, plates and mugs had chipped edges which does not cost much to replace. There were not many food options. We pretty much had the same meals to eat everyday. Limited desserts and no snacks during the day for kids though its all inclusive. No ice creams for dessert (shocking!).
Reception staff absolutely cheerful and supportive, our chauffeur was pleasant elderly man; exceptional. Location of hotel is brilliant, directly opposite the beach with lots of restaurants and supermarkets around. The food was same almost every day but most at times, delicious. Well seasoned meats and fish.

PolandFurniture needs to be renovated, towels were so old. Food has little variety, especially deserts. Ouzo and beer quality wasn’t so good. They don’t provide cocktails for free unfortunately. Coffee has very bad taste, i think the reason is they use tap water and tap water in Crete is too salty. If you have some drink with ice, you can suddenly have salty taste. We bought water from the shops, couldn’t use the one they give. We didn’t have big expectations, that’s why we enjoyed our time there. In my opinion it’s not 4 stars hotel but still not bad.
The location was perfect, next to the beach. It’s close to the most of the restaurants in Gouves. Staff in reception was so nice and friendly. Sea is clean and I liked the beach, just the problem is that people are leaving their towels although they are not in the beach. So, you have to go to beach around 9 a.m to find the free sunbeds. I booked the room with airport shuttle, so it’s just 15 minutes by shuttle. Just make sure that you book room with shuttle price included. They gave us room with sea view and we spent most of the time in balcony. The pool is not so big and mostly kids are swimming there. we haven’t use at all.

United KingdomMeals needed to be more variety. Some nice food and some really not so nice. Very limited on deserts too. Beds are hard and drains smell at times. This said we loved the holiday and hotel so would not put me off returning.
Simply beautiful.. location, hotel, beautiful. We liked the way the staff made an effort to know our names and were very friendly. Went with two teenagers and we felt very safe to let them have a little more freedom. Definitely will consider going again.

Czech RepublicTechnical condition of the room wasn't good. Bathroom had all hooks broken and window couldn't be opened. In the rest of the room there were some dead light switches, which doesn't fit to the wall. Main disappointment was AC, it was noisy and ineffective. There was also widespread corrosion on the balcony. The quality of water wasn't the best, I felt salt in the water, but it's typical for these countries. There is electricity lock and no always on power socket, so you can't charge your devices when you are away. Free sunbeds - only blue beds are for free, I'll recommend to take white beds (6/10€ per day, depends on type). They are more comfortable and in a good technical condition. Some of blue ones were broken, people "fought" for them, because the are provided for free...
Friendly, helpful staff. We got bigger room with seaview. There was welcome pack in the fridge - water, juice and fruits. Free airport shuttle - arrived on time, fast. All inclusive matches the price - drinks are available during day, but don't expect large selection. Food is similar every day, but it sometimes depends on time when you arrive. Beach is sandy, only 20 meters from the hotel. Small kitchen in the room.

IrelandThe bar out the front of the hotel (I dont think it is apart of the hotel) the music wasnt to my liking but that's just my personal choice. It wouldn't turn me off the hotel but more chilled music would have been nicer.
Beautiful small hotel, across the road from the beach and also has a good sized pool. Ideal for a relaxing family holiday. All inclusive food and drinks was lovely and great choice. The staff were all amazing and very friendly. There are shops close by but the main shopping area and restaurants are about a 15 minute walk along the prom. But if you want a relaxing holiday you have everything you need on your doorstep. I will be returning again in the future.

HungaryThe bathroom need a little make up.
We spent 7 nights at Diogenis Blue Palace hotel. We loved to be here from the very beginning. The staff was very kind, friendly and helpful. We were 5, and our kids really enjoyed every day. The restaurant staff (Ilias, Claudia, Anna and the others) did their best all day to serve various food (there were lots of Greek dishes) for the guests, and to make our holiday enjoyable. Our children always found something delicious for themselves (usually this is the hardest part for us during a vacation, but this time it was the easiest). Ilias Chef was very friendly and kind to the guests, he constantly checked the quality and the quantity of the served food and in case something is started to run out, or the temperature was not fine, he took the necessary action immediately. There were watermelons, melons, apples, grapes, oranges every day with various quantity. Our kids loved the fruit selection every day and they did not miss the ice cream. Small Greek cookies were my favourite. I always ended the meal with these delicacies. My wife usually eats vegetarian dishes, and she always found something new and delicious for herself. Every staff person at the reception (Ioanna, Elena and Stavros) and at the bar area (Ben) showed us an exemplary behaviour. We had few problems, as once we missed the lunch time, and on another occasion, we lost our lunch box voucher. They were very kind and solved our issues every time properly. The atmosphere of the inner courtyard with the big pool and the palm trees is amazing. In case you do not want to go to the beach you can spend your time here as well. By the way, the beach is very close (15 seconds walk), and there are free sun loungers for the guests. The bedding is changed every 3 days in the room. There is an LCD tv in case your kids want to watch a cartoon during the evening: You can connect your laptop with your own HDMI cable, or you can connect your pendrive directly.

GermanyThe bathroom was too small.
The staff was very kind and friendly; they were always available to helped us in any request. The staff prepared us an abundant dinner since we arrived in the late evening. Also when we leave they gave us a breakfast before the dinning room opened because we check-out very early. The hotel is well located with the beach just across the street. The food from the buffet was tasty and abundant. Our room had a nice sea view and a balcony to enjoy the sunset. The bar provided unlimited drinks.

SlovakiaFood was the biggest disappointment - there was enough food but every day almost the same, quality also not the best(ok for 2* hotel but not for 4*). There was no ice cream and nothing sweet(pancakes for example). At least coffe could have been a real espresso and not the one you get from vending machine on bus station. Private beach is true, but only 16 umbrellas, with partially damaged sunbeds. No chance to fit 99 rooms on that part of beach. The most disapppinting about that is that there is a beach bar, which belongs to the hotel but is not part of all inclusive and this bar has 6 more umbrellas with more comfortable sunbeds(but you have to pay for that extra). Rooms are old and need some reconstruction, especially the bathroom - that was horrible even if it would be a 1* hotel, not to talk about 4*.
Location was good. Clean service was ok and barman was kind and helpfull. Pool was also nice.

United KingdomThe FOOD!!! The food was awful and on occasions inedible. The chef seems to pick random people with bribes of quality food and wine in return for a good review. Very corrupt. The bathroom was the equivalent of a 1* with leaking water all over the floor. Was very misleading when booked as advertised as a 4* and I would say a 2* at best. There will indeed be good reviews for this hotel due to the bribery and corruption!! So when you book, don't expect the luxury of an actual 4*. 😐
The view from our room (when changed twice) The pool area.

United Kingdom1.very old fashioned room and bathroom (shower glass door broken so shower curtain hangs instead) this is not what you expect in 4* hotel, very unhygienic, curtain too short so water was all over bathroom floor 2. no Wi-Fi at all, occasionally we had a signal around reception but not elsewhere 3. All inclusive is not really all inclusive, no cocktails at all, very limited alcoholic drinks, nothing for kids in between meals(no snacks, ice cream, fruit). soft drinks like juices or fizzy drinks very cheap and disgusting, taste like concentrate mixed with water, very sweet and no taste na all Food taste ok most of the days but very limited selection, repetitive, no choice for kids really (my son ate tomato pasta and chips all week as nothing else for kids). Some days we had a butter and other days margarine, which was disgusting very limited fruits (watermelon, apple, bananas) 4. sun lounger around the pool available only if you get up very early and put your towel on it to reserve for later
great location, very helpful and friendly staff

SlovakiaBe careful everyone!!! This is absolutely not a 4 - star hotel!!! We were not accommodated in the apartment as we ordered and paid 4 months in advance!!! After the complaint, we finally got the apartment the next day, for which we paid, but many things did not work there!!! The furniture was old and damaged, there was mold in the shower, the tiles in the bathroom were damaged, the electricity did not work as expected, hot water was only available in the morning and in the evening, the food was still the same and changed very little!!!! They also lie about Wi-Fi, it is not in the whole building as it is on the website, but only by the pool and at the reception and often it doesn't work at all...
