Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaAs others have mentioned, the rooms, mostly the bathrooms, could use a bit of updating.
We booked this hotel from the airport (8:30pm) and were pleasantly surprised to drive down this narrow lane to an oasis, with beautifully lit pool and palm trees. Even though the hotel is not on the water, their restaurant and bar, Nisos, is! Upon arrival, one of the daughters walked us to the restaurant. Stunning! We loved this family run business, so decided to stay an additional night. The attention and service we received from the two daughters from the hotel and the two servers from the restaurant was exemplary. The food and drinks were amazing and delicious.

CanadaNothing it was perfect
My husband and I travelled to Crete for the first time and stayed at Drossia Palms and let me say this property FAR exceeded our expectations. I wish I could give it 15 stars. We stayed in the suite with a hot tub on our deck and our room was absolutely beautiful! This business is family owned and they were all so welcoming and accommodating! I cannot recommend this property enough

Belgium- We stayed in a studio which was a bit outdated (specially the shower), the other rooms across the hall were renovated, so would recommend those - Not sure what the relation with the beach bar is, as the sunbeds are still paid and they are literally packed until the edge of the water
- Quiet location, while being right next to the bar street - 3min by foot to the sea - Staff was friendly - Nice pool, lobby and bar - Great breakfast with lots of choices - Always had sunbeds available at the pool - Snacks at the poolbar were very good and reasonably priced (specially the cheesy garlic pizza) - Highly recommend the Red Lion restaurant across the street for dinner, food was amazing - Smart tv in the room could read movies from a USB and stream from a phone

MaltaThe location's a bit hidden away along Malia's strip, but I must admit that once you catch sight of the pool and the palm trees, it's as if you've been transported to a rather posh resort. Our stay was rather enjoyable, although I do have a bit of a complaint about the shower – it was quite old, and the entire bathroom had a rather outdated feel to it. The shower had a tendency to leak onto the rest of the bathroom floor due to a slight misalignment in the glass door. Consequently, we found ourselves using an entire stack of towels to mop up the water. To be fair, we didn't really raise the issue with the hotel; we simply put up with it. The breakfast was delightful, and those poolside cocktails were rather good as well. It would have been rather splendid if the hotel had its own restaurant for evening meals. Lunch at the hotel was good though. My suggestion would be to stick to the Cretan food and avoid straying too far afield. All things considered, I do wish I had more time to unwind by the pool – it was truly marvelous.

United KingdomUnfortunately the air conditioning wasn’t great in our room (might have been better in other rooms) We had to grab a mini fan from the supermarket so we could sleep in the heat. The poolside food at the hotel was okay but we preferred the food at their beach club or the restaurants in the old town.
Gorgeous hotel. Beautifully decorated with some great photo taking spots! The hotel itself is nicely tucked away behind the quieter end of Malia strip. It’s in good walking distance of restaurants, bars and the old town. Pool is nice. Sun loungers are comfy. The rooms are fairly spacious. Bed was comfy. Handy to have a kitchenette. Balcony was a good size We went at the start of the season and it was quite quiet considering close proximity to the strip. Wasn’t disturbed at night by the noise and was pleasantly surprised by this. Staff were extremely helpful and recommended car hire places, restaurants and sunrise watching spots. The hotel also has a private beach which is across the road (approx 3 min walk). Delicious food and nice coffee! (Worth noting that you do pay a fee for your bed for the day)

South AfricaOur only problem was that the bathroom felt a little dirty, the shower tap was moldy.
The pool and restaurant area were beautiful. The property is also located centrally, so very close to all the restaurants, supermarkets, and clubs. However, the build made it almost secluded which allowed you to sit by the pool without random people on the streets looking in, which was great.
