Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyI really can't think of a substantial negative point. Some people might be slightly iritated by the noise from the road but it was a minor nuisance at most. The path to the small beach might be steep and slippery for some people, so bring some shoes. But also this was not an issue at all, maybe just a remark for people who do not feel to comfortable with steep paths.
The place was amazing, had a very relaxed vibe, the staff was very friendly, helpful and insightful. The pool, bar and garden were absolutely great! The room was nothing special but cozy and clean and the access to the garden with a small terrace was wonderful. The location is a bit remote and if you don't have a car you should take a taxi instead of walking to Afitos but honestly, the staff organized a taxi every time we needed one and it cost €6-€7 so it was absolutely fine. There is a small secluded beach directly under the cliff the hotel is located on which is great if you want to escape the busy beaches, we really enjoyed it. On Saturdays there is even yoga in the garden! The frappe and food at the bar were also great!

BulgariaThe only drawback is the close proximity of a busy road. Won't be that much of an issue if you book a sea view room.
Elies 33 is the epitome of a cozy boutique hotel. Stayed there for a second time. It has only 8 suites, a decent-sized pool, a great yoga area, and incredible views from the sea view suites. The breakfast is varied and delicious. Small dogs are allowed upon request.

Serbia- Be aware that reaching a private beach is a trip itself. It’s difficult for the first time especially when you go up, but it’s definitely worth it and you get used to it with time and it’s also a nice workout :) - The village is not really close, it takes approximately 30 mins to get there by foot, which is tough in a hot day. Also, you need to go half way on a highway without any lights, which is not a pleasant experience in the evening, so most of the times we got there by taxi, which costs €5 for one way. Again all the benefits you get outweigh insignificant disadvantages
+ Service like no other - the hotel host made us food herself after the kitchen was closed, she offered help any time we saw her. + The view is absolutely beautiful. + The hotel itself is really cozy and quiet, which is perfect to just chill and relax. + Private beach is also wonderful as there were almost no people most of the time and the water is the cleanest we have ever seen

NetherlandsThe fridge was noisy, we didnt tell this though.
Very sweet and nice hospitallity from Maria and Jenie! They even made a breakfast box for us when we left early. The view is amazing and the room was very clean. The private beach is in a short walking distance. Afitos is easily accesable by a short walk as well. We would recommend for people to book a stay at Elies 33.

RomaniaThe breakfast was not that diverse, but the staff was very friendly and tried to accommodate any request we had
Great location, with amazing view & access to a small private beach. We went for a swim in the evening, down the forest to the solitary beach, and it felt like an unforgettable experience. Even though located on ground floor, the room was excellent, nice design & pleasant atmosphere. One of the most professional staff representative I ever met.

GreeceMy bathrobe has fresh blood on it and it wasn't mine, it was quickly replaced. The staff did apologise but I would of like compensation to go along with verbal apology, something like a cocktail. It was a grossly feeling to have after shower and using bathrobe only to see there's someone blood on it.
Breakfast was great. A lot of choices and well presented. The pool was wonderful and awsome beach within walking distance. Peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Was wonderful that its a small hotel which meant it's not over crowded. We loved the complimentary bottle of wine too. Staffs was nice and friendly.

BelgiumWe would have liked it to be able to drink our cocktail by the pool (for example with our feet in the water), but this was not allowed. At the end of our stay there were more people at the pool and not enough sunbeds, so people began to put there towels before breakfas to claim a place. More sunbeds would be better to avoid this...
Beautiful and new hotel, very very friendly staff, good breakfast and lunch, nice cocktails, amazing views!

North MacedoniaBefore arrival we had payment issues and the owner wasn't responding for five days. Bad soundproof, we could hear the water running through the pipes from upstairs. Bad isolation and ventilation, the bathroom was condensed and wet all the time as well as the bedroom floor.
Great location, isolated and quiet. The room had all the amenities. The staff was super welcoming and friendly! The food was amazing, great and interesting variety of food.

GermanyThe beach is a 10 min walk from the hotel, down a hill. Not suitable for elderly or unsportive people. Sometimes it was a bit noisy on the ground floor because you could hear the other tennants.
The hotel is very beautiful with a fantastic view of the ocean. The rooms and amenities are clean. Breakfast and food in general is also very nice! The staff was so friendly and helpful with everything. The beach at the partner hotel is also great. Would always go back!

GermanyIt is indeed like on other reviews mentioned next to a main road and a bit noisy if you have the wrong room (towards the road) but this was not our case.
It's literally a retreat! I was really amazed by the professionalism and the space they have created. You can relax and rejuvenate there. The room was great, bathroom was new, everything very comfy and clean. Maria was also very helpful and kind. Breakfast is next to the pool and gives you such good vibes to start the day.
