We were many times in Crete, usually staying in a rented house or villa. This one - Elouthia Residence - was one of the best we were ever living in. Why? For multiple reasons. The first is The View. House is located high above the port of Tsutsuras and offers you the ocean and the port as on a plate - all day and also night - when the lights and stars are on and you enjoy the peaceful evening time. Other reason? We felt like home. Hard to explain, but yes, the house works like that. Furthermore, house has all what you need: parking, big terrace, little veranda with table where you can enjoy the view all day in shadow, living rooms with sofas, great kitchen, nice bedroom with balcony. Only little minus is the not-yet-fully-finished second bedroom (for kids) without AC, but nothing serious. Welcome table which was waiting for us on arrival was something special - you will see when you go there :) On top of this there is something we did not see when we rented the house and it is a "winter garden" - protected place where you enjoy all the comfort and still see the ocean through the glass walls. I can imagine to do it in non-summer times. That must be great. I attached few photos of the place maybe to extend the review for better imagination.

I would greatly recommend this cottage. Maria was fantastic. We were a little unlucky with the bad weather.

Alas, we stayed during an very unusual snap of cold weather in March. The property is stone and must be cool in the summer. It was cold for our stay. The main bedroom had a good mattress and a very good heater/ air con. Downstairs only a wood burning stove heats the space. It was difficult to get going and time consuming. Once going it was romantic if a little smokey. Maria did everything possible to help with wood and kindling and extra blankets and electric heaters. If you stay in winter or cold weather bring some warm clothes. The second bedroom has twin beds which is fine but they are very uncomfortable hard mattresses… if you snore too much to stay in the main bedroom!

A delightful stone cottage. Great views from many balconies, terraces and sun room. The main bedroom is very romantic. The agent Magdalena is an excellent and prompt communicator. The owner Maria lives next door and is the kindest most generous lady. very helpful and lots of homegrown and homemade food. A peaceful property in a very friendly village away from the busy tourist areas. You will fall in love with Maria’s little dog Rudy.
