Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesLocation is at the base of one of the stone spires on top of which is one of the monasteries. Easy walking distance to town as well as the Byzantine Church. Host and her husband were very kind, welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was very good and parking on site was easy.

SwitzerlandThe hotel is on a hill and the road, which is not asphalted, makes the drive a bit difficult. Also, the smell in the bathroom (sewerage)
Nice hotel with lots of character. Very friendly and hospitable owners that could not do enough for you. We had a room that had a great view of Meteora. Great breakfast with local produce. We choose this hotel because our children could sleep in our room in normal beds, not couch turn bed.

Greecethere were a few minor details that keep me from rating with a absolute 10/10. These were: a unpleasant smell at times in the bathroom and some common areas, a need for a few repairs in some common areas (the room was fine) and the semi-dirt road that we needed to take to reach the hotel.
Room was spacious, well equipped, with a wonderful balcony, overlooking the wonderful garden and with an exceptional view of the Meteora rocks, Thessalia Valley and Pinios River. As we were at the outscirts of the town of Kalabaka, the area was full of gardens, birds that sung during all hours of the day and night (a highlight of our stay) and impressively without any insects at all. The breakfast was excellent with a decent variaet and high quality items. We requested a ground floor room to avoid stairs and was granted one. In total the staff and owner cater to all our wishes and even more. We stayed 4 nights and really would have loved to stay more. We were treated as VIPs and the same was noticed for every other guest. A boutique hotel with a total of 8 rooms, we strongly recommend it.

United StatesThis is not a typical hotel but more like a bed and breakfast. The owners were very kind, accommodating and helpful. The buffet breakfast included local foods, fresh eggs, fruit, yogurt, cappuccino and much more. The views are amazing - the city on one side and Meteora landscape on the other. My family and I really enjoyed our stay and appreciated the peaceful environment.

United StatesOur google directions to the hotel took us to some very rough gravel roads that we could not access with our car. A call to the host brought him to us so that we could follow him back to the hotel on better roads. I would definitely plan on arriving during daylight, as we did, and having the hotel number handy.
The owner was very friendly and gave us good recommendations for our stay. He helped us with luggage, made sure we knew how to operate the AC, and made sure we knew he was available to help in any way we needed. The breakfast was lovely; there was plenty of room to spread out; the bed was comfortable.

Our room was upgraded and we had a wonderful view of the monasteries of Meteora. The owners went over and beyond in order to help us out, including changing linens, allowing us to use their phone, making me tea when I was under the weather, and moving my husband's rental car when he was unable to do it himself.

United KingdomFamily run accomodations in a perfect location to visit Kalabaka and Meteora monastries, by hike or by car. Our room was big and clean, with two balconies with an incredible view on the Meteora rocks. The location Is in a quiet area of the town, but just 10 min walking from the central streets with all the restaurants. We didn't stay enough to enjoy it, but there is a big nice garden to relax. The breakfast was really good, served in a nice bright main common room with mountain view. There was a big selection of food, salty or sweet mainly local and drinks: we really enjoyed the homemade jams prepared with fruits from their garden, they are something special! Last but not least, the host and his wife were really nice and friendly, giving us a lot of information on how to plan our visits to the monastries, hikes and enjoy our time in Kalabaka. Highly recommend.

Everything was best - breakfast, cleanliness, hospitality - it's definitely the best one in Europe, esp the breakfast with all homemade and organic stuff that you don't get anywhere else. The room is also quite spacious and clean. The views are amazing. Totally recommend to anybody going there. The hosts are very very helpful.. Just like a family stay!
