Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

JapanThe walls are very thin. We heard noise from the next room and hallway which was a downside. Also the toilet isn't sufficiently separated from the main room..this is a bit uncomfortable. Fine for a couple, I suppose, but still not the best.
The neighborhood is brimming with absolutely everything: restaurants, shopping, cafes, historic sites, the new Maria Callas Museum is across the street. Great great great location. The hotel rooftop is wonderful. Staff were friendly and informative. Like everyone says, breakfast is quite nice, extensive.

United StatesThat we couldn't stay longer!
We had a short stay at Ergon House after touring the Cyclades and before heading home from Athens, but the staff made sure our short stay was great. We arrived on the late side and hoped to grab a quick dinner on the rooftop; unfortunately, it was closed due to bad weather. The staff jumped into action and scored us a spot at their sister property, Ergon Bakery. Perfect! Breakfast is in their market restaurant, which is a great place to fuel up for the day, or shop for culinary souvenirs. They carry some wonderful products. Highly worth a stop even if your not staying at the hotel.

United StatesThe rooms could use more storage or shelves, places to hang towels and bath items. Our king size bed could only be accessed from one side and it was difficult to get in and out, with two steps up. Required crawling over the other person.
Great location, personable and helpful staff, and the best breakfast in Athens. The main floor is a restaurant with a wonderful selection of unique and delicious meals.

AustraliaThe only cons are that I wish I had stayed one week.
This is truly an amazing concept hotel, from the minute you walk in on the ground floor with all the fresh produce and the smell of spices to the beautiful hotel room, this hotel will not disappoint, specially if you love your food. In the morning, they offered a free a la carte breakfast that was amazing. He also had dinner there, and I'm lost for words on how good it was. The coffee, in my opinion, was the best. It also has a rooftop bar with a great view of the Acropolis.

United StatesNothing, we were impressed and happy with our stay there.
Ergon House is a very special place in Athens - a combination of a hotel, restaurant, and gourmet market that makes you feel immediately plugged into the city on arrival. We recommend eating your first dinner in town right at the hotel, the food and atmosphere were stand-out, and the restaurant is packed with locals out for a nice dinner. The location of the hotel is great, it's easy walking distance to all the main local attractions, as well as innumerable restaurants and shops. Seeing the Parthenon right out our window during our stay was amazing. Our room was well-appointed, stylish, very clean, totally comfortable. Fantastic shower, one of the best ever, second only to the Blue Lagoon showers in Iceland, and if you've been there you know it's a high shower compliment. Breakfast was awesome - it was à la carte and very memorable, served in the space that is the restaurant later in the day. Go for the Greek coffee, then buy the coffee cup later in the shop! The helpful staff arranged for an excellent private guide, Rilla, for a half-day tour of the Acropolis. Make a reservation for the excellent rooftop bar as well for great evening views of the Acropolis.

FranceAs soon as you enter the place, you're lost. You're in a 'market' with no real signage or person to tell you where to go. You're in front of an incredibly busy street, so the risk of pickpockets right when you enter is a bit high. The rooms were recently remodeled (I assume), but the carpet on the hallway wasn't replaced and has stains, which makes it offputting. The bathroom is kind of open, but what I hated about it was that the hooks to hang your towels are inside the actual shower, so if you're not careful, you can get your towels wet as you shower. The beds are on a wooden platform, so you need to step up and down to get on it, and at night, you can fall or stub your toe if you're not careful. You can hear the noise from the market as the rooms windows face the market and the noise isolations isn't good.
INSANE BREAKFAST! It was literally the best breakfast I've ever had at a hotel. The facilities were nice, and the rooms were very pretty. Great location, right in the middle of a nice neighborhood with lots of stores. They gave a couple of good foodie 'gifts' that they say came from their market. It's a cool concept store/hotel, which is very trendy but not practical if you're older and want quiet.
