The receptionist that checked us in was really informative and nice but, we scheduled with him a pick up in the early morning 0545 and he didn't show up.. I had to call the number on the front desk and the guy helped us and ordered a regular Taxi, Luckily we made it on time for the flight. * There was no blanket in the room

The best hostels have their own "spirit" or character that makes staying in them enjoyable, over and above the benefit of saving money. This hostel definitely had that, with helpful staff, well-appointed community facilities, and a welcoming atmosphere.

Not sure why all the toilets on the bottom floor next to the room were for women. Not sure why there's a lock for the door to the two showers. Should be a lock for each shower.

The kitchen was quite hot. I asked in advance for a bottom bunk bed and they didn't reserve one. I was lucky one of the other guests agreed to switch with me.

Nice rooftop, met amazing people. AC in the room though the AC was a bit weird, it was at 22°C but felt warmer. Curtains in the beds and outlets to charge the phone. Kitchen and towels available to rent. Central and close to a supermarket and restaurants. Wifi worked well.

I was only there for two nights, but what I noticed is that the matresses were a bit hard. For a few nights, I think that is OK. It's only a minor inconvenience, but when you're sleeping at the hostel for more than a week for example, I don't know if your back will like that.

Staff was very social, helpful and accessible. Pavlos was a great host and a really great guy overall, told me all about Iraklion. I really loved the rooftop bar, there's enough room to chill out and enjoy the weather as well as the cool breeze at night. The reception room had a very relieving cool temperature from the AC as well, which was quite nice when entering the building. The living room/kitchen space was spacious and very nicely decorated and the bathrooms were clean, albeit a bit small.

Very few downsides, once major one for me was the showers. They were all co-ed which would have been fine if they were in locking cubicles. However, they weren’t. The showers were in rows of three facing into the bathrooms and main corridors which only a curtain blocking everyone’s view. You could not put a towel inside with you which made me as a young solo female traveler feel quite unsafe while showering. Another thing was that despite what the name suggests this is not a youth hostel. I ended up sharing the room with quite a few older men which again made me a little uncomfortable. Not the hostels fault but something to note.

I loved the privacy curtains across the beds, they allowed you to have some me time in an otherwise crowded room. The hostel itself was also so clean, I saw cleaners every morning making sure everything was working. The common areas, both the upstairs and the kitchen were also lovely and very nice to spend some time in when you didn’t feel like being in bed.

The hostel was very well organised and impressively clean. Although due to my flight I arrived late, everything was prepared for me and it was very easy to find my way around and use the facilities. Particularly the bathrooms/toilets were spotless and the room had plenty of space to move around, while not disturbing other occupants. Big bonus the lockers in the room.

It has all you can ask for in a hostel and more. The amazingly beautiful roof gives you the feeling of a garden right over the roofs of the town. The let me stay there for the night as my flight landed at 2 a.m. and I did not book a room for this short night. Showers are clean, everything is very modern and beautiful. Was a nice stay!

The staff was very kind and helpful, the hostel was clean, have all the facilities for us being able to cook. It is well located near the bus station and in the middle of the old town. I was able to work remote from the rooftop.

It's not in my country

This extraordinary nice hostel is run by very nice staff. The kitchen is great, and the rooftop is stunning! I went away for only 1 day and literallt get home sick. Sounds sentimental? Just wait to be there:)

Perfect location for getting around the old town in Heraklion, clean modern room with a nice bathroom. Very tidy, well-appointed kitchen with drinkable tap water from one of the taps (they advise not to drink Heraklion's tap water). Really nice value for money, was very quiet because of the time of year.
