Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IsraelWhat I felt about Faros was that I had entered a dream of mine. That is, a place I have always dreamed about somehow, and now the dream had come true. It begins with its being situated far away from any tourist hum, in the middle of an olive grove and garden, and right on the sea. And it has to do with the special quality of light in the place, because the rooms are so filled with light which comes both from the mountain and olives and from the sea. I felt this way about my room too, because not only was it large, with large windows and balcony doors, but, since I had requested and received a corner room, it opened onto an enormous balcony overlooking both the olive groves on the mountain slope and the sea, and with a huge chestnut tree growing onto it. The entire house and grounds are beautiful. One could go on, but perhaps at this stage it is enough to just say it is unique. Like a unicorn, except that it actually exists. Part of this is that the meals at Faros - they serve breakfast and dinner - are truly exceptional. Every dinner was different and excellent in its own way. Yasmine has great pride in her cooking, and justly so. It means that every little thing is wonderfully done and beautifully served. All the staff are very pleasant and friendly. I long to return to Faros.

IsraelWe arrived at the hotel a few days before the big storm that was in Pilon, we enjoyed a clean, well-kept place and a stunning entrance to the sea through rocks. During the storm they took care of us with food and water, and Hep cared that we were comfortable despite the difficult situation. The staff is kind and cordial, we will be back soon!

CanadaWifi was not good for work so we used our mobile data, which is not such a bad thing in a place like this. It forces you to relax :))
Amazing! Excellent! Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We’ve never relaxed as much as we did here. Tranquil, cozy, but you also get to socialize with staff and other guests. Yasmine is a wonderful host and cooks the most delicious food. We never left the property to go eat somewhere else during our 3-day stay. We enjoyed swimming both at the cliff on the hotel property, and the nearby beach (10min walk). This hotel has the absolute best service. We would love to come back!

RomaniaDefinitely not a complaint, just a context: expect a steep ride from the main road to the hotel. The road is in good condition though and you will make it safely up and down.
It is difficult to decide what we liked most: the location, the people , cleanliness, the overall charm of the place? When staff is relaxed, but everything is kept tidy, clean and the service is excellent, you know there is a lot of work but also passion behind. I am a semi-professional traveler, spending about 100 nights per year in hotels. This 2* hotel is much classier than many 4* hotels I've stayed in. They offer organic products from their own farm: freshly squeezed orange juice, eggs, sheep yoghurt, tangerine confiture, honey, to name but a few products. They usually serve one or two delicious main dishes for dinner, and a choice of dips and salads. The access to sea is from cliffs with a pool like staircase for access. I would say it is for good swimmers. We had the best greek coffee here, and we crossed Greece from west to east. The secret is... You have to come and find out for yourself.

United StatesI first visited Faros in 2014, returned in 2015, and only just came back for my third time in 2023. The hotel is absolutely perfect. Yasmine treats her guests like family. The breakfast is above and beyond (for example: eggs, preserves, yoghurt, honey, etc.) and dinners are some of the best examples of Greek home cooking. The hotel itself is like a museum, displaying 19th and 20th century antique objects from the region. The views and proximity to the water are unmatched. Relax under the olive trees above the crystal clear water! I can't wait to return to Faros.
