Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomOk, so the tricky part. Filoxenia itself is genuinely lovely and offers real value for money. This is possibly partly a reflection of the location - if you stuck this on the other side of the island you would pay double. The fact is, it's located on a main road, and whilst there are a couple of restaurants near the beach, this doesn't offer your 'standard' Greek dining in a cosy village (in comparison to our experiences at least). The beach is fine, but choppy - it's mainly used for kite surfing and water sports, and it wouldn't suit really small children. Our 7 and 10-year old loved playing in the waves but if you like your beaches calm and sandy, this isn't it! The food at the restaurant is lovely, so if you're not bothered about eating elsewhere, you could happily hole up in the resort for a week or so. We tend to like eating in different places and found options limited. Saying that, Billy's down the road was really nice and fun (with a pool table for entertainment) and the food at Spitaki was also great, though the road noise/proximity was more obvious there. The only other niggle we had is that they literally charge for everything, even playing with the big chess set - it seems a shame as it's just there, not sure it needs a €3 charge attached!
This is a really tricky review to write, because, admittedly, first impressions weren't great. The resort is located right off a main road, which we found really offputting initially. HOWEVER, the actual resort is lovely and especially the people - Nikos and his family are so welcoming, and all the staff are incredible - so polite and friendly. Our cleaners did an amazing job on our apartment each day, it was spick and span. Our kids quickly made friends with other kids that were there and the setup with the little playground near the restaurant mean they could go off and we felt totally secure. The pool was fantastic, it was nice to have the two pools as the slightly larger (shallower) pool tended to be used mainly be the kids, and the deeper one by adults - so no-one got in each other's way. The kids are already begging to go back next year. For what it's worth - the plane noise, we -genuinely!- stopped noticing after a few days. Initially, we were a little shocked by how close we were to the airport and flight path, but the flights are relatively infrequent and you really do get used to it! For info, we paid €15 a night extra for air-conditioning, for two units in our apartment. We knew about the charge and had budgeted for it.

IrelandThere's nothing we didn't like.. But we did read reviews before we travelled so to address some of the previous reviews: The property is close to the airport, this was a plus for us because our children loved watching the planes & using flight radar to see where they were coming from. This is a property for a quiet family holiday, there is no late night party. A taxi to Rhodes town is €35 for 4 people. We did this once. We rented a car for 5 days in the middle of our 10 day trip to visit other parts of the island. I would recommend this for the aquapark, butterfly valley, sandy beaches etc. Taxis equate to the same price as we rented our car for day trips and we worked on our own schedule. A car is also convenient if you want to do a food shop in a bigger supermarket (fussy eater) or a laundromat service (we packed light). There is a small under counter fridge freezer in the room, perfect size for essential things (milk, cheese, yogurts) & wine for balcony drinks. You will not fit an average weekly shop for a family of 4, the restaurant fed us excellently for 2 of our 3 meals most days at very reasonable prices. Freezer contained an ice tray (used in wine for balcony drinks). The shower head does not conveniently sit in the holder so you hold it in your hand. Intentionally or not this ensures you turn off the shower as you lather thus saving water. Hot water available at all times. Air conditioning comes at a price. €8 per unit per day. We had 2. Air con is expensive to run & 100% necessary in 38 degree heat. Small price to pay for comfort. You only get 1 x key card for your room so that you don't go out for the day & leave the air con running. Energy/money saving. The units are efficient and it only takes about 5 minutes on return to cool the room.
We got the warmest welcome at Filoxenia. Nikos & Evan are a wonderful couple and they have the most amazing staff. Nothing is a problem. Ztenka catered to our picky eater's every need each evening meal with a smile and the food was fabulous every time. The 2 x Georgias who worked during the day were fantastic & looked after us so well. The rooms were spacious & spotlessly clean. The staff never stop to ensure the property & the rooms are perfectly maintained. The property has so many returning guests who are greeted with hugs & excitement when they return, sometimes 2-3 times in a season. Our youngest son's highlight of the holiday was Greek night, the best fun he's ever had in a restaurant.

United KingdomAir con is an extra charge, although this seems to be common for the area. We managed without but imagine in July and August it would be impossible. Worth budgeting for the extra cost.
We absolutely loved our stay at Filoxenia and left feeling so relaxed and refreshed. The staff are wonderful, so kind and make you feel so welcome. Everyone was so lovely at every interaction. The surroundings are gorgeous- beautiful and well maintained gardens. Rooms are basic but spotlessly cleaned everyday and have everything you need. Beds were very comfy. The perfect place to relax and unwind for the week. We ate in the restaurant several times- delicious greek food and the BBQ night is not to be missed. Also worth taking the walk and going to Drosia Taverna and The Little Greek Kitchen in the town for dinner. Bus going into Rhodes Town was easy to navigate. Stops right outside the hotel and is about a 40 minute ride into the centre of the town. We also went to the neighbouring town of Soroni. Charming town with nice cafes and a beach, only 10 minutes on the bus. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our stay!

Stayed in a room adjacent to my parents, only stopping the 1 night enroute to Lindos after a late flight into Rhodes & booked as stopover. Was very pleasantly surprised at the quality & service at the Hotel. My room was very large with a huge balcony with a seaview. Very clean & perfect for a good nights sleep after travelling from California via the UK, really would have liked to stay longer. The restaurant was open when we arrived to a very friendly welcome & enjoyed our 1st Greek meal of the holiday. All the services at the Hotel were excellent & enjoyed a swim in the pool before a really enjoyable breakfast. Could not find fault with anything & was way beyond our expectations, Filoxenia was a real gem & a perfect way to start our holiday. Would highly recommend the Hotel for short or longer breaks & hopefully will be back when we are travelling to Halki later in the year.

United KingdomNOTHING!!
The whole experience was great, unfortunately only staying for one night after a late flight into Rhodes Airport before going onto Lindos, wished we were staying longer!! Really enjoyed our short stay, the rooms were in typical Greek style, no luxuries but clean & spacious, perfect for our needs. The restaurant was excellent, open after our late arrival at 11.30pm & served super food throughout the day. We were met with a very friendly welcome & our cases were carried to our room. Lovely swimming pool & grounds around the hotel, the beach a short walk from the hotel. On departure we were asked by a Jet2 representative ( although we had booked independantly) if everything was ok as we were leaving after 1 night, we explained why & confirmed everything had been perfect. Would highly recommend Filoxenia & hopefully will stay again in the future A great start to our holiday in Rhodes & all for 33 euros 👍🏼👍🏼

United KingdomWas a quiet place to stay but that suited us well as we were looking for a relaxing holiday to recharge.
It was a lovely, family run place to stay. The restaurant on site served a great choice of delicious food both Greek and English and held special bbq nights where the food was amazing. There were plenty of free sunbeds around the good size pools, even in half term. The apartment and complex itself were spotless, the rooms were thoroughly cleaned each day and restocked with towels. The beds were really comfy and there was a, fridge, safe and aircon in the room if needed. The beach and village were about 10 mins walk away with a selection of bars and restaurants. There was a local bus to Rhodes Old Town which left just outside the complex. I would have no hesitation in staying here again.

United KingdomThis was our second time here and again we were very very happy of the level of service, the 2 pools, bar, restaurant and the studio/room. The restaurant offers very delicious home made style Greek typical foods and Evangelia and Nikos are the best in doing so. They take care of the customer treating as if you are part of the family and sharing the love of what they do, that is why they do it so well. Thanks again for everything and we think we may come back again. Yassou :-)

United KingdomTheologos is a quiet area without nightclubs or themed bars so may not suit the younger crowd. There are only a few little shops and supermarkets so a visit to Rhodes town for any major retail therapy is recommended. The beach is stony but very picturesque, especially at sunset.
This was our 2nd visit to Filoxenia and will not be our last as we've definately found our 'happy' place :) Our room was kept spotless by the daily maid service with bins emptied daily and clean towels provided. Air con and a safe available at a small extra daily charge and the option of keeping your room (minimal charge) until you leave, meaning you can shower and change before a late evening departure (subject to availability) The pool area was immaculate with regular cleaning of the pool, there were always plenty of sunbeds available throughout the day and no early sunbed/towel rush. We cannot praise the quality of the food more highly with an extensive choice of breakfast, snack and evening meals available, all at a reasonable price, 2 euros for a ham/cheese toastie! We only ate in other places on 2 evenings and although we recommend The Little Greek Kitchen, we found the standard of the food offered in Filoxenia couldn't be matched anywhere else. All tables in the restuarant area immediately cleaned by staff when guests left and the most friendly, helpful staff we've ever met, nothing was ever too much trouble. A couple of themed food nights with a popular BBQ night, Greek meze night and traditional Greek night with dancers and singing. Food and drink available from early to late and we even saw a late arival at 11-45pm being served an evening meal without any issues. Trips around the island can be organised locally and for the 1st time we hired a car through Filoxenia for the day to drive to Lindos. A compact car cost 50 euros for the day and driving was an easy, relaxed experience on main roads, taking about 1 hour in an air conditioned car rather than a crowded hot bus - a no brainer for us ! All in all if you want a totally relaxing break in a beautiful, quiet setting the Filoxenia is the place for you.
