How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

So happy we found this gem in Zakynthos. Beautiful and very clean apartments at a great location, the center of Zakynthos town can be reached by foot. The property has beautiful garden and our room had a balcony with a lovely view. The owner is beyond amazing! He recommended us so many nice places on the island and he always helped us super fast when we had any questions. We would definitely stay here again!

Despite it is relatively close to the center it is not directly in the center, and walking to the center wouldn’t be nice as it does not have a walking road, so it was good that we had our car, it was 3-4 minutes drive to the center.
Nikos was always available for helping there at the reception or through WhatsApp for whatever we asked or needed, he got back to us very fast. We felt like home, it was really great vacation and we enjoyed every moment of it thanks to our good choice in hotel. The location is very nice, the garden was very big, you can find a lot of corners to enjoy your spare time and the specially designed area in the middle of the garden with a lot of flowers gave us the option for having romantic evenings. We drank our wine which Nikos presented us for our marriage celebration there :) And what else was awesome: Lemon trees which we got one everyday from and waking up with birds chirping every day. It was very clean and the room was being cleaned, the towels were changed every day, I really felt good about this being a little bit sensitive on hygiene matters.

The property is the same as photos. All were very clean and comfortable. But we are impress by the hospitality of the host - the communication with him was smooth and easy, he called us before we arrived to offer us transportation from the airport and explained all the most important places we should visit in. He also assists us with renting a car during our stay. Very supportive guy.

The apartment was just like the photos with a beautiful garden and super good wifi connection. Nikos is the best host and makes sure you have everything you need, knows the best spots and is really kind.

Many cats One of the bedrooms smelled badly- we were able to change the apartment after one night. Apartment is renovated but you just do not feel comfortable- floor is not cleaned with water (feet were dirty when walking barefooted), bathroom smelled a little bit, kitchen utensil supply is mixed… We closed the windows when we left so no one could enter the apartment but when we came back windows were opened by staff (guess because of the smell). Luckily nothing happened.

The location. As described the property is 20 minutes by foot to Zante. But there’s not much around the property and the walk to the town is not that pleasant (a road with no footpath). I also didn’t quite like the fake flowers and plants in the garden. Most of them are real, but some are fake. And I wasn’t quite sure why.
The rooms are modern and big. The beds are very big and comfy. There is an external shower and toilet that the owner allowed us to use after check out before taking our flight in the evening. This turned out to be very convenient as it allowed us to spend our last day at the beach and then arrive at the airport refreshed. This was much appreciated. The host also provided a map and some useful information about which beaches to visit fir sunset and which tours to take.

We got single beds pushed together instead of a double bed that I booked. When i asked they said it was what was available. You should have sent me a message beforehand to inform me of this. Only Toiletries (shower gel) - was tiny and not replaced daily. When asked for more, they said they usually don’t give more. (Yet the title says ‘luxury apartments’) We did not have hot water several nights we stayed, so had to have a cold shower on several occasions. The location is in the middle of nowhere, yes it’s convenient from the airport, however you cannot walk around as there aren’t pedestrian lanes, its all dark dodgy streets for cars. Does not feel safe. You have to take the car everywhere from there.
