Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThis was supposed to be a quiet evening transiting from the airport to west Crete. But the hosts Gabriella & Claudio gave us a wonderful Cretan welcome. We had a great evening. Great food, great conversation. Thank you.

GreeceCleaning might be a bit better. Room was very dusty. All tables in the garden too dirty to look at. A very messy shared kitchen outside, which I could not use because it was too dirty. A bit too expensive for what you get to be honest.
Perfect location. Close to the city and in the village (few steps away) a lovely beach with some tavernas. Nice village. Funny place, looks like an abandoned place. Feels comfortable and relaxed. A bit hippie-like place.

SpainWe arrived to the extreme heat wave the room had no AC. It was unbearable.
Gabriella and her husband are so nice and easy to talk to. We only stayed one night before heading to the west side so we needed a place near the airport. The vibe was so relaxed you can meet some cool people and have some nice chat with them.

BulgariaHave in mind that the place is very close to the main road and you can hear it all the time. It has no air conditioning. The house kept somehow cooler during the day, but it had the same temperature during the night. We hardly managed to sleep. If you decide to have coffee in the morning, have in mind that it is French press and ask for prices in advance to avoid surprises. We stayed for one night as we needed a place for the night outside Herakleion and it suited us perfectly, but I wouldn't recommend it for long visit (although the rest of the rooms were taken by long staying visitors).
The property is in a unique old fashioned house. The room kept the original atmosphere and had good anti mosquito facility. The place has a little bit of artistic and hipster atmosphere, which I believe is the main asset. Gabriela is very friendly and relaxed. Nearby you can find good places to eat.

UkraineIf you love nature, sea and mountains, good cuisine and pleasant company, then this is your place. The facilities are not top-class, but there is a lot of space, near the sea, bars and shops. Be sure to order dinner from the owners - it is very tasty. I recommend this place.

AustraliaI wish I could stay longer and have a nice chat to the owners. Nothing bad about the place. It felt authentic and great real Cretan experience.
Gabriella and her dad have beautiful property! The Garden is well maintained and has a nice energy about it. They also serve traditional food and it was very delicious. It was conveniently located 2 min walk from small local beach which was lovely and quiet for a swim and relaxing.

CanadaThe place is ancient and in dire need of renovations. There was little in the way of comfort or apparent cleanliness. No toiletries, no water, no functional screens to keep mosquitos away. The room we received was NOTHING like the photographs… I would NOT recommend this establishment.

Czech RepublicThe Gabriellas Garden is exceptional place. It is beautiful garden with small rooms situated around the garden. The owners are very friendly and informal - it is perfect for people who seek for authentic traveling, seeing the places where also local people live. Beach is very close to the accommodation and they provide very delicious homemade food. I met with beautiful people and enjoyed amazing stay.

GermanyWe had to leave after being there for 30min. We were stung by mosquitoes more times than i could count, it's hardly accessible by public transport. There's a bus that passes there from Heraklion but no bus to take you back to the city. There were no real windows, merely a net. The light in the bathroom didn't work and there was no AC, only a fan that barely held together. The host wasn't very forthcoming when we complained
It was cheap. Close to a beach
