The reception staff were excellent, location great, a short walk across from the ferry terminal. Room and bed very comfortable. Breakfast had a wide variety of options.

All communications with staff, both before arrival and during our visit, were very friendly, prompt, on the mark. All staff had smiles and made us feel welcome. The property is absolutely beautiful and the rooms very comfortable, with large well equipped bathrooms. Breakfast is wide ranging and delicious. To top it off, the location is also perfect, on the edge of the Venetian walls within walking distance of all the shops and restaurants inside the walls. We loved our stay here and would love to stay again!

Everything was fantastic.

The room was spacious, well equipped and comfortable. Air conditioning and WiFi worked very well. Our room had two small balconies overlooking the harbor and fortress. I must say that all the staff were friendly, exceptionally helpful and professional. Any issues were dealt with promptly. Great location close to the harbor and the main shopping area of Heraklion. Loads of restaurants within a quick walk. The buffet breakfast included with the room was amazing! Best I’ve seen in Greece by a long shot! Great variety of items, hot & cold, sweet and savory. Excellent coffee as well! Will definitely stay here on future trips to Heraklion, and have already recommended to many friends!

The breakfast is definitely a highlight in the hotel with a rich spectrum of local specialities, i would recommend everyone to book the breakfast. The room is also fantastic, it is very clean and cozy and with a view to the harbour The service staff in the hotel is nice and provides help such as booking taxi and touristic information

Very spacious and well appointed rooms and great service. A/c worked extremely well. The breakfast buffet was delicious and plentiful. The rooftop was nice and the pool was a little bigger than I expected. Location was super close to the ferry port and bus station, as well as an easy walk to the archaeological museum.

Flight path is right overhead, so it is noisy at times.

Excellent location: Near shops, cafes, and restaurants; easy access to/from the port; walking distance to museums and public transportation for Knossos. Wonderful views of the sea and Venetian fortress. Light, airy rooms; very clean. Topnotch staff. Sumptuous breakfasts.

This is a wonderful hotel with very caring and polite staff. It’s close to the port and a 10 minute walk to the bus station where you can catch the bus to Knossos as well as other parts of the island. It has a lap , rooftop pool with a bar and a restaurant. The breakfast is extremely generous, full of traditional Greek savories and sweets . Loved the decor in this historic hotel too. We had an executive sea view room which had a huge bed and had great views and was very comfortable. Loved it here !

The GDM Megaron is a fantastic hotel and we had a lovely stay there. The staff are helpful, polite and sincere. The hotel is in a great location, the views were stunning and the food and drink were amazing. The room was spacious, comfortable and wonderfully kitted out.

American tourists leaving early should remain quiet in the hallways at 5 am, and refrain from loud conversations and letting doors slam shut. But that is not the hotel's problem, it is a problem of basic civil behavior and respect. Or ignorance.

Restaurant meal for dinner delicious but the wine was very overpriced. I would think more people would eat there if the wine prices matched the other restaurants. Lighting in the bathroom needs improvement....brighter LED and there should be a light in the shower ceiling...very dark

Beautiful 1920s building restored and located on the waterfront 7 minutes from the main square. Outstanding breakfast in a room overlooking the port. Excellent staff. Rooftop restaurant and bar has water views. Some Floor 4 rooms have water views.
