Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing!!
Loved it!! :- Staff - very welcoming. Breakfast - plentiful and tasty, different every morning which was a nice touch. Room - clean with everything you need, aircon, fridge, lovely views and a roomy balcony. Hotel - nice quiet road within a couple of minute’s stroll to all amenities, lovely beach around 10 minutes walk along a nice harbour. Parking is limited outside the hotel but there is a large free carpark no more than a 100 meters away. Agia Galini - large selection of tavernas / cafes / bars, fabulous vibe. Nearby - We had a hire car as we were touring the island, visited Preveli beach, parked near the taverna and did the circular walk, we did the clockwise route, relatively easy if you have adequate walking shoes, the river area was amazing!!

IrelandThe hotel was clean, however, they could definitely change the showers structure, as there was mould on the curtain, and it was very unpleasant to have shower on those conditions.
The hotel was in a very good location, with a great common area, surrounded by trees and nice views. The breakfast was unbelievable, every day a great new dish was made by the friendly hosts. For sure the best part of our stay.

ItalyStaying at the Gioma Hotel was an incredible experience. Amazing hospitality from all the staff. The breakfast is something unique, with such an amazing selection and quality of the homemade products. You can really feel the love in every space of the hotel. Our room was very spacious, confortable, clean and silent. The bed was super comfortable too, including the pillows! We defenitively recommend it! It was our first time in Crete and we will surely repeat the experience at the Gioma Hotel. Thank you again for everything. Marco&Emma'

ItalyGioma Hotel has such a family vibe. The staff is super friendly, helpful and welcoming and the breakfast with local and handmade food in their lovely garden gives the best start of a day. Location is perfect as it’s close to the Main Street but in a quiet area. Unfortunately we only stayed for 2 nights but we really enjoyed our stay here!

United KingdomWe loved everything and can't think of anything that would improve our stay in the future.
Aris and Marina know how to run a Hotel! They are both so friendly, warm and helpful; nothing is too much trouble. The Room was a good size and very clean, with a lovely view from our large Balcony (2 x chairs and a table and a hanging rack for washing). Although there isn't a TV in the Room, there is a TV in the Reception area Lounge. Aris is famous for his home made breakfasts. We really enjoyed eating his Breakfasts in the cute garden area every day for a few days. There is something different every day and all the different Jams are made by Aris too. The Hotel is very close to the little Port, Shops and some really great Tavernas/Restaurants. The food did not disappoint and the prices were very good. At one Seafood Restaurant that Aris recommended, we had the best Calamari we've EVER had! There is a lovely sandy beach, suitable for children too, a few minutes walk away, with Tavernas/Restaurants/facilities. You just have to buy drinks if you don't want food, and the Sunbeds/Umbrellas are FREE. We saw some stupid Tourists bringing their own small umbrellas and sitting at the edge of the beach on the sand...Too mean to buy a drink? A soft drink was Euros 2.00 We will definitely be back here again. Thank you Marina and Aris! Julie & Steve xx

BelgiumH Such a nice place to stay. We loved the garden where breakfast was served and you could have a drink during the day and in the evening. Rooms were clean. The breakfast is very good. Everyday something new, freshly prepared with lots of love and care by Aris, the owner. Some people try to be a good host, but Aris is a natural talent....it all comes from the heart.

United KingdomThe rooms can really use some new mattresses and pillows, which were uncomfortable. The a/c was old and noisy, and the toilet fan as well. The little fridge would also make random noises during the day and night, and this woke me up multiple times during our stay.
The breakfast was awesome. You get some basics every morning (bread with butter and homemade jam, orange juice, coffee, etc.), plus something different each day of Cretan typical food. The owners are also lovely and the cocktails and drinks are well made. The room was clean and spacious. Our balcony had a nice view and the WiFi was working smoothly.
