In some corners internet is a little bit poorer.

It is very close to everything. Restaurants, taverna’s, markets, and most importantly to the beach. There is also George’s coffee shop next to it where you can drink very good coffee and eat delicious ice cream in front of the see. Minas and his wife are very friendly, helpful and supportive in any subject. They were like our neighbor of 20 years.

Minas (host) is really helpful, nice, they did everything to make us feel great. The apartment is located close to the sea, shops and cafes. Upstairs there is a fantastic terrace with a wonderful view of the bay (really romantic place for a proposal;). Minas is helpful and always explains with great patience and joy what can be seen in the area.

Absolutely amazing place, it has everything you would need for a comfortable stay. The hosts are the most pleasant and welcoming people on the entire Crete. The apartment has a sea view and the sea itself is within 1 minute by walk. Very cosy area with tavernas, bars, restaurants, shops and ATM are right nearby. I didn’t want to leave, it felt completely like at home and even better!

Everything was great.

Apartment was great, we had everything that we needed. Towels where changed few times during our stay, as well as bed sheets. Kids linked to play in the pool. Beach is really close (2 min walk) and it is really good for kids, no waves. There is also one great bigger beach that was 5-10 min walk. Market is in front of the accommodation. There are lot of markets and restaurants near. You can watch best sunset in front of the accommodation. Host was great. He was available and he fulfilled our every wish :)

Minas and his wife were great and friendly hosts. If we had any questions or requests they could help us. The location is also in my opinion pretty good if you don't want to stay directly in Heraklion but still near its perimeter. You also don't have to go too far if you are looking for a beach (or stay home and jump in the pool). If you don't want to rent a car, the bus stops are 10 to 15 minutes south of Gouves Sunset Apartments (2,20 Euro each person from bus stop 11-13 to Heraklion). The rooms are large enough, have one AC in the sleeping room and the kitchen has enough tools for cooking a decent meal if you don't want to eat at a restaurant from time to time (we bought/brought our own spices). My advice if you want to take a shower: don't use the full power or almost the whole bathroom is going to be wet ;) The terrace and its garden were also good if you want to spend some calm/remote time e.g. in the morning/evening outside. From time to time a cute cat (or rather 2) visitted us. Directly east to the apartment is a tourist guide office with lots of interessting options (we took the Lassithi Pleateau one because we visitted Knossos ourselves) if you want to have more than just some sun bathing/beach vacation. Heraklion itself also has lots of museums if you are into some historical facts (from archaeological to natural museums). Since we were interessted in cretan olive oil and honey, he also gave us some as parting gift. Thanks again for the super hospitality and we hopefully can come back soon again for our next summer vacation.

Perfect location in (Kato-)Gouves, just a few minutes from Heraklion Airport and right by the sea. Friendly, nice, loving and helpful owner family. Very well equipped, manageable and family-run apartment complex, with private pool. The apartments lack nothing - everything you need is available. Quiet location and within walking distance you reach everything: small and large supermarkets, souvenir stores, bars and restaurants as well as doctor and pharmacy. George's Bar right next door is an absolutely recommendable coffee spot.

Lovely location right in front of the beach, host was very welcoming and gave good advice about places to visit, kitchen was fully stocked with all utensils, spacious bed, bathroom was clean with good facilities, gate at the front so it was quiet, close to supermarket, local shops and travel agents

if I have to be critical, the kitchen is a bit small but it worked! there are pet cats and dogs in the other properties, which my kids liked, but some people might not

Internet connection is poor. Unfortunately the mobile connection is also bad in front of the building.

Nice spacious apartment, good airco placed in the bedroom, clean. Everything within the village is on walking distance.

The only thing we lacked is hangers for towels in the bathroom.

The best of all is Minas, the host. He was so welcoming, friendly, funny, we all liked him very much. He talked to us a lot, made us laugh and gave us good advice. The apartment is right next to the beach with a swimming pool. There are lots of restaurants, bars, shops around. You can go up to the roof terrace to admire the sunset ever the sea or do some workout. The apartmet is clean, with air-conditioning, the beds were comfy and the bathroom is quite modern. We were very satisfied with everything, would definitely come back. In the end Minas supplied us with raki, wine, figs, cheese and 3 big chunks or roast meat as present.

It would be nice if the shower head in the bathroom would have a holder to attach it to the wall. Keeping it in hand was not comfortable. There was no shampoo provided.

There were some safety issues we were concerned by: No substantial defence around the pool from the apartment door which was not safe for small children. The mattress was very hard The back yard had broken items and an old piece of fake grass just lying in a heap.

Location was excellent, super close to the sea and airport and there was a good beach for families 100m down the road. Minas the owner was very friendly. The price was fair for the accommodation. The pool was very nice.

No washing machine which is not comfortable for a long stay. Not quite private, all the outside arias are shared.

Good value for money and nice atmosphere. Hosts are friendly and helpful. The pool is fixed and not leaking anymore. The bathroom installment is questionable from the first glance, but appeared to be comfortable. Nearest beach is quite crowded, but really nice one is 15 mins by car.
