Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWhile the hotel itself is exceptional, I must mention that its location is not ideal if you wish to explore outside of the premises. However, they provide a convenient shuttle service, and taking a short taxi ride to Thessaloniki's central area is always an option. In fact, we decided to try a highly-rated restaurant in the local neighborhood, which was excellent. Although walking there wasn't the most pleasant experience, we opted for a taxi on our way back to the hotel. On a positive note, there is an ALDI supermarket conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from the hotel, which proved to be quite handy during our stay.
We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Grand Hotel Palace in Thessaloniki, Greece, and it truly lives up to its reputation as a luxurious 5-star hotel. Located right on the waterfront, it offers stunning views of the Thermaic Gulf, making it one of the top choices for accommodation in the city. From the moment we stepped into the hotel, we were greeted with an elegant and majestic atmosphere. The style and décor exuded luxury and sophistication, instantly making us feel pampered. Our room was incredibly spacious and well-appointed, featuring comfortable beds and top-notch amenities. We were lucky to have a large double suite with a generous balcony, which provided us with a perfect spot to relax during our stay. The staff at the hotel were absolutely fantastic. They were warm, polite, and attentive to our every need. The concierge, in particular, went above and beyond to ensure that our requests were fulfilled, making us feel truly taken care of. We had a great time enjoying the on-site bar, gym, and pool facilities. The pool, however, did tend to get a bit busy with children at times. The breakfast buffet was a true highlight, offering a wide assortment of high-quality food and delicious Greek specialties. It was the perfect way to start our day and fuel up for our adventures.

AustraliaThe smell when you went on the balcony or outside was horrible- smelt like sewerage. The location was slightly out of the main town and it seemed like quite a rough area. The air-conditioner leaked water when it was on.
The property looks very appealing from the outside! Inside is is also nice, but I wouldn’t give it 5 stars if I was comparing it to some of the 5 star hotels in Australia. The parking was convenient. The breakfast had a good variety.

AustraliaHotel was great, if the government could do more about the atheistic look in the area. We didn’t think Greece was as poor as it felt.
Breakfast was good had a great variety. Location suited us for parking our hire car, the area outside of the hotel grounds did not match what we were staying in it was dirty and had a very unkempt feel.

AustraliaThe area of the hotel is difficult to get to, close to the warf and industrial warehouses which made it unsafe, dirty and quite frightening to walk around.
The breakfast was amazing. Such a variety of delicious goodies, ranging from breads, croissants, cheeses, fresh fruit and salads, jams and marmalades, eggs, omelletes, fresh youghurt, cereals and Greek pastries.

United KingdomIt’s not in the best part of town but we chose it as it was near the bus station.
This hotel is located near the bus station. The breakfast was very good. Our reasonably priced bottle of wine was accompanied by a complimentary cheese board.

I simply liked everything! The hotel is not in the middle of the city which is totally perfect because the center was too crowded which I am not fan of having during vacation. From the hotel to the city is walkable I simply walked and it took me 30mins. Perfect morning excise. The staff were all friendly and helpful which the second most important factor every time I stayed in a hotel and the first is of course the comfort which this hotel also exceed my expectations.

United KingdomIt is quite a long way out of the city centre and the free shuttle only operates once every two hours with a large gap in service during the afternoons and the last taxi at 20:20. Having said that, taxis are only 6-8 euro. The swimming pool is small and a bit drab with no space for loungers etc. The sauna is really nice though.
Lovely hotel, beautiful lobby, friendly and courteous staff, excellent breakfast and bar meal, extremely useful free taxi shuttle to and from the city centre.
