Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe only thing I didn’t like was having to leave!
Wow- where to start?! What a beautiful place to stay. We stayed a week and were greeted by Alex who took our bags to the room and then by Elizabeth who checked us in. They were fabulous hosts the whole stay- nothing was too much to ask! Elizabeth gave us lots of fantastic recommendations, and booked us lots of experiences and restaurants which were all excellent. She really wants her guests to have the best time. All of the other staff at the resort were also great-the team here are a huge asset to the hotel and make the experience extra special. The suites themselves are beautiful. We stayed in Alkyone, which is one of their cave suites. So stylish and so comfortable- everything was thought of. The pool was private, heated and had jacuzzi jets- it was a wonderful place to relax. And then there are the uninterrupted views of Santorini… wow. I love nothing more than sitting here with a book, some wine, or for breakfast. Did I mention breakfast?! Cooked fresh, everyday, delivered to your room, plentiful and always very tasty. The hotel is so close to lots of really lovely restaurants in Pygros- the place itself is a hidden gem, and much much quieter than Oia and Fira (which we visited during the day). I cannot recommend enough- we cannot wait to come back and already miss it!

ItalyOur suite was perfect, just like in the photos and even better. It had all the possible comforts. The pool was amazing with an outstanding view. The breakfast was over every expectation: so much delicious food every morning served at the time of choice in the room. The structure is located in Pyrgos a very characteristic town with some really nice restaurants and cafe’s. It is very close to almost every city of interest and to the beaches. The hotel has a lot of privacy, differently from the majority of the structures in the bigger cities, where we noticed that basically everyone walking in the streets and from the other hotels is able to have a look inside the rooms. What made the difference for us was the staff. Elizabeth and Alex in particular. Alex came pick us up from the town center and helped us reaching the structure. He showed us around all the places along the road. We also met him sometimes in the hall and he was always very nice. Elizabeth welcomed us in the structure and was always there to give us advices about the island, places to visit and things to do. She was also the one serving breakfast every morning with this other very kind man and every time she greeted us with good vibes. We had a great time at halcyon and we are willing to come back.

We stayed in the ‘Beyond’ suite, and it was beyond our expectations. From the style and finish of design and fittings, to the quality of linen and spa toiletries included each day. we had everything we needed. In the weeks leading to our stay Elizabeth contacted us routinely, to check our requirements and arrange our transfer from the airport. We were greeted by Alex on our arrival in the village (which is beautiful) and from that moment both he and Elizabeth worked hard to ensure our every need was catered for. We were offered ideas for activities to make the most of our visit but also given the space to make our own choices. Our needs were listened to and appropriate options given. We like our space and peace and Alex recommended a quieter Catamaran cruise option, which whilst being more expensive, offered the one to one, more exclusive experience we were looking for. The breakfasts were of excellent quality and varied. changing constantly over our eight day period, locally sourced and hand made they included savoury and sweet options. We often kept some dishes back to eat later in the day and on our second day Elizabeth brought a bottle of wine and Hors-d’oeuvre for us to eat whilst watching the sunset which is as good from the terrace as anywhere. The village of Pyrgos was perfect for us. With Tavernas suspended between quaint alleyways or with open vistas to the islands. The architecture is a wonderful mix of Medieval quaintness and sensitivity designed modern boutique apartments and suites, that retains charm and quality within a quiet retreat. The bustling resorts of Fira and Oia are a short drive away and contrast nicely. Halcyon days and Pyrgos generally offer a higher end of accommodation without the over inflated costs of Fira and Oia providing a more secluded and private option at a better price offering much better value for money.

GermanyThe pool could have been a colder in our opinion, it wasn’t that refreshing. Also our terrace didn’t have a shady place after 2pm which is a bit annoying when you come back in the afternoon and want to enjoy the terrace.
Really relaxing and beautiful place in Pyrgos, which is a perfect central place to stay when visiting Santorini. Pyrgos has some nice restaurants. Alex, Elizabeth and the whole team are really friendly and helpful. The breakfast was outstanding - fresh and delicious. You get free water so you don’t have to carry it from the center of Pyrgos to your room. Everything was very clean.

Can not fault Halcyon Days. Absolutely outstanding! Breakfast was BEYOND and I wish I could give Elizabeth and all the staff a rating of 100 out of 10!!! Favourite accomodation out of the 12 places we stayed over a month through Italy and Greece. Highly recommend staying in Pyrgos as opposed to Fira! Also... book the in room massage!!!

She went out of her way to ensure we had an awesome stay and trip itinerary while on the island. And when it came to recommendations and having the relationships on the island to ensure we got the reservations needed even at the last minute she’s the best!

Czech RepublicSantorini apparently is a windy place. At least, it was during our stay. So we did not enjoy the "hot" tub. The temperature in tub was to have 31C which was not enough in the windy weather - cold for us. We prefer more advance planning and sometimes were told to ask the information later.
Deliciuous breakfast. Surprised every day, served in the appartment. Spacious apt. Amazing view of the caldera - especially at sunset. Really a quiet place - reason why we have chosen Pyrgos was 100% completed. Recommendations from Elisabeth.
