We stayed here for a week at the end of April. The hotel has been renovated tastefully - the lobby, restaurant, bar and the rooms look good. We had a sea facing room on the 3rd floor - the room was quite spacious and everything worked well. Especially liked the new digital controls (instead of switches) to control the light/airco etc. The beds were very comfortable as well. The staff are super helpful and friendly, always going the extra mile to help. The location is the USP of this hotel - it's right on the edge of the old town, so you get the convenience of being near the old town without the associated hustle and bustle. There's a huge parking lot right opposite, the hotel rents a few parking spots there. Overall, super convenient, considering how difficult it can be to get secure parking near the old town. Rethymno itself is beautiful town - we found it to have the right mix of old world charm and amneties. Plenty of good places to eat, and the beach is quite good - something that Heraklion or Chania misses out on. There're a couple water sports places as well (Ikarus is one), they do parasailing and other water sports for a reasonable fee.

I has a nasty fall outside our room. The "maid" saw this and ran to reception to get antiseptic etc and was very helpful cleaning my wounded face. Breakfast had a good buffet selection.

They gave me the wrong room. I booked a sea view room but I got a no view room, just of a staircase. I only booked this hotel for the sea view room so that was disappointing. The room I was given was also next to the elevator. Any time the elevator was used the room had a buzzing sound - this is very disruptive in the mornings mostly. The hotel staff told me I could switch room the next day to the sea view (which I booked) for an extra fee, which was disappointing. I recommend confirming your room with the property before arriving and making sure you are not near the elevator, because it will disturb your sleep. The hotel should fix their ads also so it's not misleading.

Clean modern room, great a/c, comfy double bed (not two singles pushed together), and the staff were very nice.

Luxury for a great price. State of the art electronic controls for lights, AC, tv, door locks. Breakfast was amazing. Very clean. Great service. No complaints. Parking available. across the street.

Would be good if breakfast started at 7.There was a kettle and cups in the room, but no coffee/tea/spoons etc. The alcohol free cocktails at the bar are extremely sweet, the sugar kept me up most of the night.

Those pillows in the apartments were very hard! The apartment was disappointing & really in need updating, shower curtains in hotel like this are a surprise, could do with a walk-in shower and more stylish furnishing.

Great location with parking at the port car park with special free pass - drop your luggage outside door even though it’s a no drive zone, it’s ok. Reasonable prices for drinks. Pool looked very clean. Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean.

The room was brand new, everything looked and feel like a premium hotel. Very clean, the staff was very friendly and the free parking option nearby, included in the price of the room, is an excellent opportunity for an area where it is very difficult to find a parking place. The location is also great, just between the old city and the port, near the Venetian castle.

Lovely ground floor apartment with courtyard, directly by the pool. Great air conditioning. Spotless..Great staff and atmosphere. No sun bed hogging, not allowed. Great pool bar service.

The shower needs changing to a walk in shower as the bathroom was small no need for a bath.

Great location just round the corner from the harbour and old town, away from the long strip of hotels along the beach. Steps away fro the sea. Free parking a definite bonus. Beds very comfortable, room lovely.bwe had an inner courtyard so no actual view but the courtyard was beautifully done. Best breakfast we had in Crete.

Breakfast buffet was excellent. Centrally located for all exploring activities and just a 20 minute walk to the beach. The main site, the fortezza, could be seen from our balcony. Views were superb.
