The lady which gave us the keys is very rough. One morning, our baby was with fever at 6 am and he was crying. The lady came and knocked our door at 6am to ask why the baby was crying because we were disturbing her. Very impolite taking into account the hour.

The location is 2 min away from Matala beach, with lots of restaurants, shops and supermarkets near. The 2 bedroom apartament is small but ok for a family with 2 kids. Very nice the big terrace where we spent a lot of time.

The host (madam) is amazing, really friendly and willing to help with whatever you need :) we felt welcomed immediately and we left with a really warm feeling. The location is perfect, everything is within reach (shops, night life, cafes, beach..), but placed on the city edge enough so you can chill in your room in the evening without much noise. The room was superclean — they cleaned it every single day and the whole hotel is very well handed with hygiene.

No food or drink service on premise. But you have restaurants just 50 m away.

Very friendly personnel. Great location side street very quiet vs center of Matala but still only few steps from the center. Great location to explore Matala and nice beaches around the area.

The room was fairly small but as we spent most of the day outside it did not bother us.

The Sunshine Matala was modern and very clean - we had a wonderful stay. It is family-owned and we felt very welcome and looked after. The bed was comfy and was made daily. The washroom was clean with good water pressure. The whole room was wonderfully decorated. The location was fantastic with just a one minute walk into town. I can very much recommend staying there!

The nice patio with a lovely herb garden and the sound of birds for our early breakfast and late nightcap. Very clean, organised flat for a pleasant stay, and of course the hospitality of Antonia!

Facilities were great, Antonia and her family were amazing hosts. Really grateful for their hospitality for the two nights we stayed. Heed their recommendations, they know what they are talking about! Nikos was great in his recommendations, next time my fiancé and I are there I will take him up on his offer for a Gin and Tonic!

The double bed in our room was very small, too small to have a good night rest. On the pictures on bookings they showed a bigger bed for the room that we had chosen.

The host was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were rather small but comfortable. The location is very good.

There is room for improvement in the kitchen, it could be better equipped with more pans and dishes and at least basic spices such as salt, pepper, oil

The appartment I stayed in was very clean and nice, with a little private garden. Very bright, close to the sea (5 min walk). At night there is no passage so you can sleep, the bed is big and comfortable. The cleaning service comes in every day so you don't really need to care about anything. Antonia and her family did arrange everything I needed. Thank you for a great stay in Matala
