Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BelgiumThe our room on first floor in reality hotel 3 star maximum, nothing special and too expensive for his equipment and size. Internet light and no stable. Bathroom riducule.
Personnel and reception very jentile and kindly. Everything was clean. Outside hotel seriously equipment. Any problems with parking. Breakfast and resto very variable , good kitchen and good price. Globally nice and comfortable location. We stay 3 weeks on Creta in different place and this one it was last location for 2 days.

BelgiumA few minor things such as the shower thub that was a bit shallow so would easily overflow during showering. The bread at the breakfast can be improved. The music at the pool was nice but sometimes a bit too loud and too much (not ideal when trying to read a book) or the same kind of music over again.
The hotel was very nice, clean, modern. Breakfast consisted of tasty local products. The hotel is very quiet. The staff is friendly and present but discrete. If we had questions concerning our daily getaways we were very much helped by the reception staff, especially Katarina. Near the beach. Good location as starting point for exploring the island. Overall the hotel had a very relaxed vibe. We had several times dinner at the restaurant that belonged to the hotel and the food is very qualitative, would highly recommend. Great value for money.

AustraliaThere was absolutely nothing not to like. We wished the holidays there were longer 🤣🤣
We loved the deluxe sea apartment. It was spacious, beautifully furbished and had everything we needed. There were two swimming pools to our surprise, which were both amazing. The staff was one of the friendliest we have ever experienced. We traveled with a baby and they accommodated us in every possible way. Thank you to Irida Apartments again for a wonderful holiday

Germany- Security Breach and Communication Delay: Two days before check-in, I received a fraudulent message from Irida Hotel's booking.com account in the chat we had previously used for communication. The message, seemingly from the hotel's official Booking.com account, requested my credit card information. Unfortunately, I fell for this scam and had to freeze my credit card. After realizing the potential fraud, I contacted the hotel, and they said their account had been hacked. What added to our concern was the delay in their response; several hours had passed without any proactive alert about the breach, leaving us feeling vulnerable. This was further compounded by the fact that the hotel had earlier informed me that I would receive a link two days before my arrival to complete their check-in form. Regrettably, this inadvertently gave credibility to the fraudulent message. - Quality of Dining Experience: I chose half-board but was dissatisfied with the dining options. Breakfast quality was extremely low, with unripe or old fruit, possibly powdered juices, and below-average coffee. At some point we even skipped breakfast. Dinners lacked diversity, offering the same choices daily. Furthermore, the overall food quality was subpar, even extending to fried potatoes (lunch), which appeared to be cooked in old oil. - Billing and Service Inconsistencies: Billing discrepancies further added to my dissatisfaction. Charges for items I didn't consume were initially placed on my bill. When I raised the issue, they were removed, but later reappeared on the final bill. Moreover, there was an attempt to charge a city tax, even though I had already paid it through Booking.com. - Trustworthiness and Value for Money: These experiences collectively left me with a lack of trust in the hotel's operations. I found the price-to-value ratio significantly imbalanced. Despite the appealing facilities and aesthetics, the overall experience was marred by these issues.
The rooms were thoughtfully designed, equipped with a convenient small kitchen, captivating interior aesthetics, and a delightful shower. Pleasant view and overall lovely hotel facility with 2 nice pools

United KingdomThe bedroom was very small - in order to fit the baby’s travel cot we had to move the bed over to touch the wall. The room sometimes had a strange smell. I thought it was silly that other reviewers complained about the “dated” bathroom but it honestly does need a refresh - an old dingy shower curtain is not really what you want in such a beautiful property. We were told to download an app to do things like order drinks by the pool, but it didn’t work. The day menu could be improved; compared to breakfast and dinner, it was quite disappointing.
Wonderful staff, very friendly and attentive. We were traveling with our baby and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay a comfortable one. Breakfast was very good, as was the dinner menu at the restaurant. My husband has coeliac disease and had plenty of options to choose from. The location is perfect - quiet with sea views but literally a 4 minute walk from Agia Pelagia beach. The property is beautiful with two swimming pools, one with a bar where they make great cocktails. I had a great massage too. Overall a very pleasant and relaxing stay, and we would stay there again, but a few things could be improved.

RomaniaWe stayed in the studio garden anexa. We booked this studio for two main reasons: 1) To have a private garden as per the pictures we've seen- no pvt garden is a common yard which is used as access for studios from the 1st floor and studio next door. 2) as per room information we booked to have an extandable couch/sofa as we were two friends travelling. Reality on the field was: - studio is in another building across the hotel this isn't clear in the room information. Thus if you go to breakfast and pool you need to cross the street everytime. - studio has no extendable sofa/couch although even now information on site (booking.com) it says that. - room had also a common indoor door with the next studio (this wasn't written in the room information). - On room information it says the room has 25 sqr m but room is much smaller i would say it has maxim 18 sqr m. Had a discussion with the staff from reception showing the reservation i have and that we are missing the sofa or maybe we have been accommodated to a wrong room, we've been told that this is the room and that booking shows wrong information and that I should have checked their website. Mind-blowing 🤯. After my discussion they have corrected the information from booking and nobody ever talked with us about this incident, if we ignore it maybe it will dissappear i guess:). - the room had a bad smell from the bathroom drainage. Keep the bathroom door closed. - room walls are very thin For a 4* hotel i would have expected to receive some "we are sorry for any inconvenience this might have caused" it wasn't the case here. Also in our 2nd day of the stay there has been an electricity power outage during the night which lasted around to 2 - 4 hours more or less.
clean room, good breakfast, nice pool bar, cool music at the pool, good cocktails. Not very far (around 5-10 min by foot) from agia pelagia beach (not a very big beach around 1km long and 2 up to 3 rows of sunbeds wide) when waves are high and reach the shores you cannot lay on the beach. Lygaria beach is also close (10 - 15 min by foot) the road is a little hard so you need to be in a medium to good shape. Lygaria beach is bigger than agia pelagia beach. Location close to a lot of tavernas so you can go eat every night in a different location. There is also a supermarket close next to the beach. Heraklion Town is 20 - 30 min drive away by car. Taxi cost 35 eur to town center and 40 eur to airport. Hotel staff is nice they order taxi for you.
