How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

It is a very clean and comfortable place in a typical traditional house of the Island close to the port. The host is lovely, available and always mindful to the guests! Great holiday!! I kindly suggest it!

The appartement is very well located: 2minutes from the port, and from the supermarkets, and from the bars. The appartement is very confortable, very clean, there are fans (which are silenct so no noise during the night). The owner is lovely, helpful, and had provided us with snacks and water, which is great if you want to spend the day on the beach. We had a wonderful stay and we truly recommend Kassandra House if you are looking for a quiet place, comfortable, not far from all the attractions. Thank you for everything!!!

The apartment was exactly what me and my family needed for our 4 day stay in Hydra. It had a great location only a few minutes from the busy harbor and the restaurants. Great air conditioning and a small terrace for morning coffee.

You do need to be active as there are steps everywhere.
Met off the ferry by the owner and son who carried our cases to the property. Although only a short walk from the port it was a lovely quiet location. The property was super clean and the owner/s went over and above with their care and helpfulness. The island is a step back in time and very relaxing provided you enjoy walking everywhere or using the water bus. Food was fantastic and the area was super safe. Very clean and welcoming island with beautiful areas for swimming and snorkelling. Did not see any bad behaviour anywhere. Do not expect clubs or excessive drinking!

Had a lovely time in Hydra, our host was lovely and helpful, and the house was so so incredibly clean! Had all the facilities we needed and was a great location. Would immediately book again if we return to Hydra!

Everything was perfect for our group!
The house was very clean and close to the port where there are plenty of restaurants, cafes, bars. Mrs Stavroula is a top host - helpful, accommodating, smiling and a pleasure to talk to! She even provides water, snacks, coffee and other hotel-style amenities which was a pleasant surprise and made our stay even more comfortable.

We spent a wonderful week in Kassandra House. It is very well located: just 2 minutes to the port and the restaurants. The house is very well equiped and cleaned every day by a very nice person. Stavroula is very pleasant and so welcoming. We would like to thank her and all of her family for their kindness. And of course, Hydra looks like a paradise:)

Very clean- a cleaning lady comes every day to the apartment to clean and change towels and bad sheets. Very nice owner (also a nurse if needed..). Complementary water, coffee capsules, and drinks- very nice surprise! Located in the center of town so a taxi is needed to get to the remote beaches. But many coffee shops, restaurants, and super markets in short walking distance.

Lovely warm welcome from our host. Could not have done anything more to make our stay comfortable and welcoming. Lovely wine and local delicacies - a surprise ! On our last day , Stefanoula and Spiros , helped us with our bags to the port for our very early morning sailing. On a Saturday !!!! We will back next year to see you .

Everything was just perfect. The location is excellent, two minutes away from the port. Everything you need is just there, you wont even have to bother going to the supermarket to buy anything. Stavroula thought about everything, you feel really taken care of. She even thought of the snacks, breakfast etc. Our 5 years old son loved his room, he insisted on sleeping by himself and not in our bed, we loved our stay and we wont stay anywhere else in beautiful Hydra. ❤️

Stavroula is a lovely and very caring host. The location is fantastic for staying in the town and the apartment is very well air conditioned, which was important given that we visited during the epic heatwave in early August 2021. Would definitely recommend. There are no views but there are plenty outside, so we never felt deprived.

Stavroula is a wonderful, attentive host who goes above and beyond to make her guests feel welcome and to make their stay as pleasant as possible. We were greeted and shown around by her husband and son, and she came personally as soon as she could to introduce herself. The property had many lovely details to make our stay comfortable, Stavroula bought anti-mosquito cream for our son, and topped up our supplies of bottled water. She even brought us fresh pastries one day! The apartment is clean, well kept and Stavroula came to clean and change the bedding. Location is perfect - 1 min walk from everything but sufficiently away from the busy main streets to feel peaceful and secluded. A perfect family holiday, thank you!
