Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe kitchen and bathroom are a little dated but OK. The bedrooms have AC which just about copes. If you need to use the washing machine ask Roxanne to show you the knack to open the door after the cycle has finished. Take your time on the stairs. Bring mozzie repellent and anti-histamine.
Roxanne is an amazing host. Good local info and support when needed. The pool, garden and courtyard are great. Very secluded and lots of sunny/shady areas at all times of the day depending on what you prefer. The poolside pool fridge is a convenient touch. The courtyard and BBQ area is great for evening meals and winding down. The breakfast balcony is a nice place to start the day with a coffee. The bedrooms have a lot of character. The stone building is a local highlight with recently married couples having their wedding photos outside most late afternoons. Being in central Afitos means the town square, church, tavernas, souvenir shops and supermarkets are close by. Afitos is on a hill and there are beautiful views of the sea from various parts of town. It's a 10 minute walk down to the beaches which are very clean but quite crowded (in July/Aug). The sea is warm and clear with small fish among the rocks.

GreeceThe house is made out of stone and wood, giving a rustic feel and a little bit of a woody smell which needed a day of getting used to — but nothing really intolerable! The pool starts its self-cleaning at around 6:45PM, which might be inconvenient for people who want to swim till sunset (which is around 8-9PM in Greece during the summer).
The hostess left a great impression as she was very communicative and friendly towards us without being overbearing. She let us know the mansion was ready for us (which was a couple of hours prior to the check-in time as mentioned on Booking) and when we arrived she showed us around and answered all our questions, even stocked the pool fridge with some canned refreshments! The bathroom was clean and well stocked with toilet paper and ear-tips and hand soap as well as a hand mirror for doing your makeup. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything one might need, as well as a brand new dish-washing sponge just for us; the fridge was of a very good size and it worked well. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were clean. All in all everything worked as it should around the house, leaving us to just enjoy our stay. The pool is a decent size and bigger than most other places (when it comes to hosting just 2 people at least), it has an outdoor shower that functions excellently to freshen up before using the pool. A mini-market and the very square of Afitos village with all its shops, cafes and restaurants is right around the corner of the house, but the location is quiet and serene thanks to the walled design and shrubbery around the yard.

United KingdomIt can feel a little dark inside, but the white walls, white bed covers and large rooms help counteract it. Maybe some stronger lighting would have helped. But really this is the only thing I can find to possibly improve. This is really lovely place to stay.
The property is very private, with lots of space outside and inside to move around and relax in. The pool is a good size for a private pool. The interior is decorated with lovely antique furnishings with all required facilities. The location is great as its literally round the corner from the centre of the village, yet it was still very peaceful. We loved sitting on the balcony just watching the birds. The host Roxane was great, giving us her contact details and checking in with us to make sure we were ok and answer any questions we had.

United KingdomA larger bathroom would have been nice,
The garden and swimming pool were fantastic, exactly as shown in the many photos. The house was better than expected, we enjoyed the upstairs kitchen leading onto a balcony, and the bedroom we used which was downstairs was large and remained cool. The shower was always hot. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. Afitos was a lively town full of bars, restaurants and shops with something for everyone, a wide range of places to eat and drink.there were small supermarkets, a bakers and a butcher. It was an easy walk downhill to the beach.

United KingdomNothing!
This is a wonderful villa in the middle of Afytos. The pool, BBQ and outdoor spaces are really lovely and perfect to relax in. Restaurants, bars, supermarkets, butchers and bakers are all within a 2 minute walk and the beach is also a very short walk away (5-10 minutes). Despite being so close to the middle of the village, the garden area feels totally secluded and peaceful. The host is extremely accommodating, friendly and easy to communicate with. Afytos is a beautiful village with stone buildings, plenty of good restaurants and an excellent beach. We would definitely recommend staying in this villa.
