It is not our first stay at Kerkini Houses, but this time we came with friends and they enjoyed it just as much as we did! Our host was amazing - very kind and very responsive. When we found out that we need one more bed for a child in one of the houses, she immediately arranged this. She also arranged a boat trip on the lake for us, which was the highlight of our stay in Kerkini - the kids were really impressed by the pelicans we saw from so close! One should really stay longer to be able to make the most of the visit - have more time to relax on the balcony, ride a bike, walk around the lake. All is easily accessible on foot, there are also some very good restaurants in the village and a supermarket.

Loved the location as it was quiet and rural but an easy 5 minute walk into Kerkini town to get groceries and food. The hosts were welcoming, the house was spotless inside and out. The location near to the lake was wonderful. We had a lovely meal at a grill spot in town, then another at the fish farm in Ano Poriera, and a lunch at the old train station in Veronica. A wonderful area to explore and see the birds on the lake.

Kerkini houses are very well located and easily accesed. Well equipped inside and spacious. Clean and comfortable. The preserved area/artificial lake is not overbuilded or crouded so the wild life is abundant. We were lucky to meet the best host and person. Thank you Antonis

There wasn't anything that I didn't like per se. Some small things I noticed were that sometimes the WiFi would get slow, but that's to be expected. Most of the time the internet speed was plenty good! The other, very tiny thing, was the lighting, with almost all bulbs being super cold (blue) which made me not want to use them, but that is absolutely nitpicking on my end, and definitely not an issue :).

I loved that there is parking, and to top it all off it was covered parking, so my car stayed safe from the elements. There is also a gate that made me feel like my car is more secure and safe. Another thing that left an impression was the warm and caring hospitality from the hosts, which welcomed me and even offered to connect me to a car mechanic they know when they saw my car was having some problems. What was really surprising was that you can order food to the houses from a nearby restaurant. Not that you would need to order, as it is a beautiful village and it is worth taking a walk and sitting in one of the restaurants or cafes yourself, but it is nice to have the option in case you are super tired.

My only suggestion is to provide in the kitchen one bigger knife. Otherwise you have thought of everything needed.

We stayed 3 nights and it was very very nice and relaxing. I recommend the location not only for transit but simply for a few days to recharge the batteries. On the recommendation of the owner, we visited some absolutely wonderful places, from water buffaloes and bird watching to visiting an absolutely magical waterfall 1 and a half hours away by car from the location. There would be a lot to say and all good!! The house where we stayed was very clean and spacious with everything you need plus a large veranda where you can relax and listen to the silence!!! A place that will remain in our hearts thanks primarily to the wonderful MAN who manages the business!!! Thank you for everything and we want to come back!!!

For a few years Kerkini Houses are our choice for overnight stay while travelling to Greek beaches. They are conveniently located near the border. Houses are generously sized, always clean and pleasantly cool upon our arrival. Carport is sufficient. Hosts are very hospitable. Thank you, Antonis!

We got an extremely nice apartment and the hosts gave us a good list of really nice sites to visit. They even helped us organise a boat trip on the Kerkini Lake for watching birds (a must do when in the Kerkini region)

The location is a bit far from the lake and the humidity is almost 100 percent in summer days Also, if you arrive in the afternoon as we did, no market is open in the village untill 6 PM (in order to buy something to eat or drink)

It is a complex of 4 little houses with parking place. Clean and confortable, also it has free bikes to use for trips around the lake. Overall a nice play to stay in transit
