Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyA nice, quiet, family run hotel with clean and comfortable rooms, perfectly located in Kefalos. Perfect place to relax. The closest beach is less than 5 mins walk with beautiful transparent water and cheap sunbeds and umbrellas. But if you walk 8-10 mins you find even less crowded spots. Many restaurants close-by, mainly along the beach with authentic and good value food. The bus from the airport or from Kos town/port stops right in front of the hotel. There are minimarkets and plenty of car and scooter rentals in case you want to explore the other beautiful beaches on the island.

UkraineWe stayed on several islands in Greece during our stay, and the Kefalos area on Kos island was so nice precisely because of this hotel. What really made it a gem is the nice lady who owns this place. She is really something: we felt so warm and welcomed! She made our stay unforgettable. She even got us little gifts when we were leaving, it was so heartwarming. The room is big and clean, the cleaning lady comes every day. We had a wonderful view of the sea and the pool. The breakfast was really good and varied, we had everything we needed and even more.

ItalyThe bathroom has no window or ventilation and the short curtain is slightly uncomfortable, but they were no issue. We enjoyed our stay and would like to come back!
The location was perfect, super close to the sea, markets and restaurants, but still super quiet. There are outside tables to enjoy the evening breeze and inside a library with huge choice of free books. The breakfast had huge choice and was very good. The room was bigger that in the pictures and the bed was comfortable.

ItalyIf I have to say something, just breakfast could be more varied, I would have appreciated a machine to make espresso and cappuccino, and trying a maybe a greek pastry or sweet
Kokalakis Is a basic but cosy hotel in a very good position, as the best beaches are really close, but the best thing about the hotel were Nitsa and his husband; you can really feel the love they have for their job and their clients, never met kindest people during my stays abroad. They welcomed us with a smile, always available if needed, and even allow us to use a room in the evening of our day of departure to take a shower, for free.

United KingdomEverything is perfect. Don’t change anything in the hotel!
This hotel has a genuinely friendly, calm and welcoming atmosphere. Nitsa, her family and others working at the hotel are all very nice people and what we experienced was great hospitality, warmth and professionalism too. The hotel is operated very well and is an excellent place to stay in Kefalos and just 1 minute stroll to the sea. Amazing views towards the sea from our balcony. The bus stop to the airport and other places on Kos is 30 seconds from the hotel door. Two small supermarkets are within 1 minute walk. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the buffet breakfast is great and for us this was the perfect place to spend our whole holiday. We intended to stay 3 nights and then look around other places in Kos but we extended to 7 nights as we really like the hotel and Kefalos.

IrelandJust the bathrooms as mentioned but this isn't a deterrent in returning as it's clean despite being small and the Greek plumbing.
Travelled to Hotel Kokalakis in late June. I went for a quiet break with my husband and that's what we got. After reading so many positive reviews about Kokalakis we were certain we had made right choice of hotel before we even got there. All the reviews were right. This hotel is an affordable, cosy and friendly hotel with all the amenities needed for a relaxing quiet no fuss break. Nitsa and Vascilli go above and beyond for their guests. My husband even had a lift up to the village with Vascilli as he was looking for a local barber shop and buses can be sporadic. The beds were comfortable and the Air Con was really good too. Rooms were simple but spotless clean we had room 24 which was a lovely size with separate little living area and two balconies both with pretty views one to sea one to hills. We had read reviews on the small bathrooms and showering areas and the problems with wet floors so we arrived knowing what to expect so it didn't bother us that much although I was very careful to not slip coming in and out of bathroom after showering. The toilets and shower were clean. The pool area is spotless clean too and while there were lots of folk who regularly holiday there, there wasn't an issue in finding a poolside sunbed when needed. The breakfast is plentiful and tasty, special mention for the Greek yoghurt and the Rice pudding!! Delicious!! Nitsa kindly accommodated us with a late check-out request as the room wasn't needed straight away which was a huge gift for us to enjoy our last day at the beautiful beach right across road from hotel. This spot is ideally located in Kefalos midway between Harbour on one side and Kastri Island down the other side. It's a stones throw to some lovely restaurants, special mention for my favourite which was Stamatia right across the road. A supermarket is also across road. The warmth and friendliness of the hotel owners is exactly how it is described in these reviews.

IrelandThe beaches in the area are not sandy, there is a mixed of stone and small pebbles, heart your legs, difficult to go in the sea on stones. But the sea is very clear, blue water, perfect for swimming. Too many sun beds on the beach, bothering you when you want to walk along the sea. Public transport, buses, is very poor, just 4 buses a day to travel to Kos, not coming in time. You need to hire a car to visit the island, no other way.
Nice location near see, close to restaurants and small supermarket. Very friendly host, helpful, good advices, make you feel like the hotel is your house. Kefalos is a quiet area, no party around, perfect for relaxing.
