Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomSome listings online still advertise this property as having a pool.
Good sized room, nice to have a proper double bed. With Crete experiencing the worst heatwave since 1987 it was also a real blessing to have good air-conditioning! (extra at 35 euros a week). Bathroom is very small so care needed when having a shower. I did not realise when booking that property does not have a pool, but the beach is only a 5 minute walk up the road....and for those with accessibility difficulties the walk is completely flat! An excellent Greek Restaurant Katerina Taverna is just across the road, and I ate there a number of times...gorgeous food at very good prices and the staff are very helpful and friendly. There is also a cafe next to the apartments that serve the typical drinks and english breakfasts if that's what you are looking for. Next to them is a large supermarket where you can get everything you need to go self-catering - the Koula studios are well equipped for that and even give you a sponge and dishwashing liquid for cleaning up! I have stayed in a number of studios/apartments in the Stalis area over the last 10 years and the Koula Apartments would be one of the two that I would most highly recommend.

EstoniaIt was opposite to one of the best restaurants in Stalida, and that was really good, but sometimes it was a bit noisy until 2am.
Theodore was really friendly and helpful. If we had any problems or questions, he helped us right away. The location is perfect and the size of the apartment was good for 3 guests. For 4 it would have maybe been a bit too small, since there was not too much closet space. Wifi worked well most of the time.

RussiaWe’ve been staying at Koula Apartments from July 29th till August 5th. Our host Theodore was very caring and attentive to us. There were no problems during the stay but if I had any questions he had always been in contact either on Whats app or personally. I liked that there were all necessary utilities in the room: a fridge, a stove, dishes, pans, dishwashing detergents, also an iron, ironing board, toaster, kettle, safe, toilet paper, towels and linen - all included in price. You also may have a conditioner for extra fee but for us it wasn’t hot at night because there was a large loggia and we could open the doors. It was so good to sit there in the evening and have supper. Fortunately it was not a sunny side. In the morning and at the daytime it was cool. It’s a great advantage when the temperature is 40 degrees of heat. I can note only one small minus: when big cars pass by at night, you can hear them through the open windows. But if you have good sleep, it’s not a problem. All the cafes on the opposite side of the street are quite and close at about 0:00. The beach with golden sand is a 5 minute walk, there is also a supermarket next door (the prices there are lower than in other shops nearby). Bus stop 29 is a two minute walk from the apartment. You don’t need transfer, there’s a straight bus going along the seaside from the airport in Heraclion to Stalida. From the airport just go out and turn RIGHT, then go along the airport building, cross the street and there’s a wooden bus stop with a ticket office, the ticket costs 3.70 euro for person from the airport to bus stop 29 in Stalida. If you have any questions, Theodore will help you beforehand, I just wrote messages to him via Booking.com We’ve enjoyed our stay so much!
