Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

MaltaThe air-conditioning unit is in the wrong place and therefore not very efficient.
The villa Raeti is perfectly sized for a couple, ample space. Very clean and comfortable. Everything about the place exuded quality. Smart and high quality windows with electric roller shutters for privacy and light control. High standards throughout.

United KingdomNothing, the accommodation was faultless.
Design and Construction excellent with many nice features inside and out. Villas are all maintained to the highest standard of cleanliness. Lovely swimming pool, very comfortable bed, pillows etc. Host provided water, bread, milk, orange juice along with a bottle of wine. Lovely authentic village setting with excellent Tavernas close to the property. Highly recommend to couples and adult families, must be one of the best properties of its type on the island of Crete….absolutely faultless! 👍😎

NigeriaWe experienced a few earthquacks during the last days of our trip but nothing high or scary. It was just a new experience for us but the hostess Antonia was great and assured us the villa was built with anti-seismic specifications. That helped to get rid of our worries.
Antonia was the best! I loved that the she left us some, water, juice, olive oil, bread, meat, cheese etc, on arrival. That was really sweet and helpfull especially because our flight came in very late. She also suggested amazing sights to visit. Like Zacharioudakis winery and restuarants. We got a lot into our stay. Tried lots of cretan meals and explored the island's archeological sites. I would say renting a car makes the holiday a lot more fun. You definitely get to explore more of crete that way. The car should not be big becasue the roads are quite small and narrow.

SwitzerlandThe swimming pool was a bit cold, which is probably not an issue during the middle of the summer, but it would have been welcome to have been a bit warmer when the outside temperature was a bit lower. But we still enjoyed it . The road to access the parking area in front of the house is a bit steep and if you not take it right, you may slightly damage the front of the car.
We stayed at the meraki house. It was exactly as on the pictures : very modern, clean and confy. The view was absolutely the best of the South Island. The location is right in the middle of the village with every commodity close by walk. The owner and the clean lady were really helpful and nice ! On our arrival, we had a lot of things ready for us in the fridge (bread, cheese, ham and fruits) and also some gifts (olive oil and white wine)! Probably one of the best location in the area !

GermanyThe very nice welcome on the day of arrival and that you don't have to go directly shopping after arrival, because some items already provided by the host including a bottle of wine. The hospitality in the village is incredible, as in the entire southern region of the island, so make sure to get in touch with the local people, whether supermarket, taverns, cafes and the best way to explore the regionis by the local taxi drivers, as they are absolutely authentic and funny guys and can also give you a lot of information and hints about the region.

United KingdomTo elevate the property, even more, I would add TVs into the two bedrooms.
The photos of the accommodation are absolutely amazing and exactly the same as the photos! Antonia is an asset to the company as she was so diligent, helpful and, most of all super polite. She helped with every request for example arranging a birthday cake and helping with transfers back to Chania. We stayed at the Meraki Villa. We had the best time and the decor/design of the Villa was so peaceful and calming. There is a shop that is a two-minute walk and lots of local family run to taverns. Antonia helped arrange a local taxi firm which we used to explore the area and we were able to contact the local taxi firm via WhatsApp which again was so helpful. The Villa had everything we needed, cooker, oven, fridge, toastie maker, juicer, crockery, cutlery, glassware, and neflix! Both bedrooms have large patio doors which open onto the patio and pool which is just spectacular. You will not regret booking this place! The villas are situated in the mountain so the views are breathtaking. We will definitely book again. Thank you for making our birthdays one to remember!!

FranceWe highly recommend to stay at Kamilari. The villa is perfect, very spacious for a couple and very clean. The situation is very calm, in the mountains next to a nice village with good restaurants. The owner also let very nice presents - which are always welcome - when we arrive, a bottle of wine and olive oil. I would not hesitate to come back and to book the private swimming pool this time!

The villa raeti was very clean and in very good condition and has a small kitchen if you want to cook. The pool is also very good and of good size. NetherlandsI believe this was one of the best residences in the area with breathtaking view and an amazing swimming pool. Fully equipped, very well decorated, in a perfect condition and with a lot of space. We really loved the fact that it was very close to Kamilari village (walking distance) where we enjoyed the local cuisines and bars. It was also close to many famous beaches and villages in the area like Agiofarago, Matala, Kalamaki and more. The host was very kind and professional, and gave us very useful information about the area. He also helped us with all of our inquiries. Overall, this residence is top in my list and I will book it again next time I visit Crete. It deserves a score of 10. Thank you and see you soon.

GermanyThe only two things that could be mentioned here are animal-related: I'm not sure why, but everyday when it got later the town's dogs started barking. As this could go one for quite a while, this could be a problem for people who try to go to bed early. Moreover, we weren't great fans of the cats that always hang out around the restaurants trying to get food. These two aspects were really the only negative points that we can think of and they would definitely not stopp us from coming back. Regarding the apartment there is really nothing to dislike - we are still stunned as it was just perfect.
Amazing accommodation! I really didn't expect it to look as nice as it does in the pictures but it really did. Super modern and stylish interior; the outside area with the pool and the view is awesome. The hosts were lovely and fulfilled every wish that we had in almost no time (on the day of arrival we asked for an umbrella, as our outside area was facing south. They got one delivered and set up within 2 hours. The village is lovely and everyone is super friendly and welcoming. We really loved it.
