Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandThe bathroom had sewage smell. Couldn’t pay for the Sun beds by card on the beach.
Clean and tidy. Great hotel shuttle to rooms higher up the hill side. Breakfast and dinner plentiful and delicious.

SwitzerlandThere are a lot of stairs to go up and down before you reach your room. They have a lot of hotel rules which a picky, old hotelmanager like to enforce for guests. For example the dress code (long trousers) just for men at dinner even when it’s more than 35 degrees. We were there for dinner just twice and a few times for breakfast and the food was a bit disappointing so we went for dinner on the other days to the small village which has a lot of great restaurants. The hotel also has a lot of „unwritten“ rules which you will, for sure, find out when the manager will sent his staff to inform you and enforce it.
The view from the room was nice it has a/c and was clean too.

FranceStaff and manager are not friendly, most of them do not smile unless you give tips. Everything has to be paid: gym, Ping pong, mini golf, darts, towels for the swimming pool (and if you use the white towel from your room the manager takes them on your sunbed at the swimming pool !), sunbed in the beach in front of hotel. By the way very small beach, not nice It is mainly a German holiday resort, then breakfast stops at 9:45am, diner from 6:30 to 8:45. Swimming pool stops at 6pm. Village Kardamenia is nice but 20mn walking. Swimming pool inside is cold
Nice hotel, swimming pool and bar. Not too many people and enough sunbeds for everybody Bus stop in front of hotel is good even of they are always late Rooms are made everyday with care, very clean Some small shops inside the hotel

NorwayWifi internet was absolutely abysmal. We were saved by our included mobile-data (EU). Warning: Our phones connected to Turkey automatically at one point. It's advisable to manually connect to a Greek operator. The long pants for dinner rule is unnecessary. I guess it's supposed to increase the "classy-feel", but then you are greeted with long ques at the buffet and limited seating options. Again; arrive early to minimize this problem. Also the flip flop - long pants combination worn by several men was an amusement to watch 😅
Buffet breakfast with nice selection. Arrive early so you miss the crowds later on. Same goes for dinner. We had a nice room on top of the hill. Beautiful view. Nice path/ staircase from main building to the top. (Free minibus service is available if you don't like walking). On the evening we would often sit on the balcony and watch and track the incoming flights on their final approach to Kos airport. (We didn't notice any noise at night). Pool towels are available at the reception for a small price and deposit. The pool area is nice but the music can be a bit loud. We preferred the beach. You have to rent sunbeds for 4€/ bed/ day at the beach. Small shops and hairdresser at the pool. Gym available for 5€/ day. We were greeted in German as we arrived. Understandable as the majority of guests were German/ German speaking. Communication with staff in German or English was nonproblematic.

United KingdomThe restaurant is a bit of a let down with little choice and some odd rules to try and make the place more upmarket than it actually is. The rules just end up frustrating you.
Amazing views from rooms higher up the hill and everything in the rooms was in good condition. It does have a lovely feel to the place.

United StatesUnless your room is in the #100s or #200s you have to walk lots of steep stairs. The hotel provides a shuttle service to take you back and forth but the queue line is consistently long. I had a rental car but you cannot park near your room. All parking is at the bottom of the hill and it is a very large property. Food is underwhelming, designed to meet large groups of people bussed onto the property. The dining facility is a cafeteria buffet similar to those on budget cruise lines. Lastly, you have to pay extra for all drinks including water. Suffice to say we decided to eat off the property most nights. In room accommodations do not meet modern hospitality standards making the experience feel cheap. No clothes iron available on the property though it is mandatory to wear pants to dinner. No coffee, tea, or water provided in the room. Though we paid for an extra adult in the room, the hotel only provided a child’s cot better suited for camping and provided no extra pillow.
Friendly front desk. Lobby and grounds are well kept and in a beautiful setting. Room was consistently very clean.

GermanyThe hotel staff were very angry, very rude to serve food, and had rules for everything, including dressing and using towels, which made people very angry. In general, we were not satisfied with the service at all, And we do not choose this hotel for staying
