The hotel is suitable for recreation with children. Delicious breakfast. The room is extremely clean, cleaned every day, beds are made. Quiet environment, swimming pools for children.The sea is nearby, you can walk, but the hotel bus also takes you to the sea. Helpful staff. Car rental nearby. There are several local shops.

Impersonal check in on tablet as handed to by reception staff when saying we booked a room. Water aerobics interupting the nice & calm atmosphere at the pool in the morning. A big intro with loud Greek music followed by badly mixed music for the class itself. Cats at the hotel trying to steal your food from the table (suggestion to hotel: create a central feeding station for them where they can be fed by staff and/or guests).

The wifi in the room was not good, to the point that it didn't work at all and internet browsing was done with data. There is no desk and work chair, so not suitable for business travel.

A clearer description of the room images shown and the room categories on Bookings.com. The pictures are all of different room categories but all say Standard room... It can be very confusing. The main images on bookings.com are all of the new section and the whole place doesn't look like this so be mindful of that! If we knew this, things would have been very different! The decor is a bit confusing as well and the dining area reminds me a little of a holiday camp. The restaurant staff didn't look happy to be there - which was sad because other staff were warm, professional, and helpful.

The staff were lovely and very helpful. We had a bit of a mix-up and they were more than accommodating to help us resolve the issue and went above and beyond to make our stay great. THANK YOU OLGA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are amazing! You saved our rating! The Sensus section was brilliant, loved the way it all worked, and the swim-up rooms are really nice. The all-inclusive area, limited options for food, but ok! If you're going - make sure you read the print carefully and stay there... I would not stay in the other sections. This section is more indicative of the pictures and I think it may be on a different site/page to the Aelius hotel. Great parking if you're driving and they have a good little spa with pool and good therapists.

The buffet dinner (Asian theme night) was uninspiring. We didn’t enjoy it. The breakfast is pretty good - lots of options and it looks like there’ll be something for everyone. The parking “lot” is outside the property in a open area with no shade or security. The wifi was NOT good - it could barely keep up with the hotel guest volume.

We got a lovely room with a pool and some complimentary drink & snacks (that we were not expecting). The weather was terrible that weekend but the pool was really nice.

The room was great size but the space was not too well planned. For two people there wasn't enough space to put our luggages (other than floor), hang towels, bath robes etc. In general, everything was fine. It wasn't a scenic or a luxury place (which is also not what we paid for). I couldn't imagine staying there without a car (which provides an opportunity to escape to the nature and fun little restaurants in the villages), but that's also the matter of preference.

Overall, a decent place for two nights. For us, this was the last stay of our trip, we wanted something close to the Heraklion airport, which it was. We got upgraded to one of the Sensus Experience jacuzzi rooms, which was a fun surprise, especially because the weather was a little rainy and cold the first night we arrived (the water temparature was way too hot for us the next evening, after a hot day). My partner really enjoyed the breakfast buffet, I found it good enough :) (it's a pity that hotels cannot offer the selection of fresh produce (and orange juice) that is available in restaurants all around Crete, but I suppose that's what one gets with buffets). It was great that parking wasn't an issue.

Gym is a bit lacking. Even the most secluded room is still a tad bit noisy. Also, it is a resort-style hotel. Consider that you will be treated kindly, but still as a customer.

Very good breakfast, even better diner. The latter, varied and different every day. Good facilities and very kind staff! Off-season quality/price is great!

it’s size : we left earlier from booked hotel and stayed here instead for one night in order to avoid long drive ( with potential travel hiccups ). my wife and I aren’t really into larger scale hotels with the large crowd resulting.

convenient location to reach Heraklion airport : cs 1/4 hr drive only ( contrary to 2+ hrs drive from hotel we were staying). facility clean ; friendly staff ; great selection of food to choose from for breakfast.

Some part of the complex is much older and it feels like old apartment and with hotel. The new wing is lovely. The food is average (breakfast and dinner)

Location - convenient to get to the beach. Hotel is ok and relatively comfortable. Some nice entertainment in the evening if you don't wish to go anywhere else.

The staff is amazing. We had the room with the probate pool and it was simply wonderful we loved every minute of it. There is so much variety for breakfast, lunch and dinner and it’s not the same thing every day.

Music was played at the pool directly in front of our room, which in itself is nice, but they played the same songs over and over and sometimes until late, which can make you go insane after a while. Also the check-in was a little unpleasant because the receptionist wanted information from us, which they should already have had. Unfortunately there's not much to do in the surrounding area of the hotel, so I definitely recommend renting a car from the hotel (it's cheap!) and drive to cities nearby. At least the beach is within walking distance (10-15 min).

Very friendly staff, clean and spacious rooms, several pools and a pool directly at our hotel room. The breakfast was nice, but also nothing special - but you get free coffee and (watered-down) orange juice with it. We haven't booked all-in, but we also went their for lunch a few times. It's slightly better than the breakfast and good value for money (10 EUR).

Location is quite, however it is 15-20 min to the sea. You should be aware that Gouves does not have a nice beach. To find a nice beach you would need a car. We underestimated the time that is required to get to some stops to be visited, which are mostly on the western side of the island, such as the really nice beaches, for excursion in the nature like Samaria, Imbros, Olive farms and Cities like Chania and Rethymon

Staff was very friendly. Hotel was quite. Rooms and Pool areas are really nice. Parking lots for free available. COVID rules were strictly followed, which was great for us. It is maximum 5-10 minutes walk to nice restaurants and good food. You should definitly have dinner outside the hotel. Breakfast in the hotel was good, large variety, but nothing special. I wonder why they do not serve fresh juice...

The cockroaches in the bathroom, the cheap furniture and dated rooms. Awful dry food and watered down drinks. Smelly bathroom, rude staff. No beach towels. Located in the middle of nowhere but easy connections to Heraklion.
