The studio was really lovely, so thoughtfully arranged with everything provided for guests to ensure comfortable and enjoyable stay. Ilias was a great host, met us at the port, transported our luggage. Wonderful!

It was very clean, the host welcomed us at the port and took our luggages, sent us recommendations for food/ drinks etc., and was generally available if we needed anything. Tv had netflix and disney+ on paid and was really easy to use. It had always hot water and ac was working perfectly. We totally recommend it!

1. I kept getting lost 😞 although the host was patient and helpful. The map sent to my email would have been appreciated as a printed handout. I kept going around in a circle, on Google it’s not listed so stick a pin in Google maps on day one or search EMERALD which is next door. 2. Ladies like to do their hair and make up in daylight, a small portable mirror on the window ledge would be useful but not essential 3. Neither of these things are a big issue, just constructive feedback because this is a SUPERB place with a very genuine, super helpful host. Plus although I found it tricky to find, it is only a few meters away from everything you need - there are restaurants and a supermarket very close and it’s only a few minutes from the port.

The interior of this beautiful apartment was superb, everything you need and some extra thoughtful touches. Better than any hotel! An exceptionally comfortable bed and pillows, and crisp, clean bright white bedding. Lots of storage and helpful things to make your stay convenient. A gorgeous modern bathroom too. Unusually this apartment had super fast reliable broadband which was essential so I could work whilst there. It is situated in a very quiet location, yet accessible for many amenities. The host made me feel very welcome and as of nothing was too much trouble. Thank you 😊

I can’t think one.

location can’t be better. And super clean. Bathroom amenity was over the top. refrigerator had 4 huge mineral water for us. they had coffee maker, espresso maker and when my daughter ask about Greek coffee, they even brought whole thing to make it and made her one! I just loved their kindness.

The location in Hydra was excellent in a quiet area but a short walk downhill to the port. The accommodation was perfect for the two of us. Very comfortable bed, kitchen area and bathroom. The kitchen was kitted out with very generous supplies, including several bottles of water in the fridge. All of these supplies were replenished when the studio was cleaned. Washing machine also available to use. Aircon worked a treat. We shall definitely return. The hosts were charming, welcoming and helpful. Thanks very much Ilias and Alexandra!

if one doesn't care about the island's views or the fact the room windows are looking directly to the alley, it is an excellent choice

The host picked me up from the port and escorted me to the hotel. Situated in a quiet small alley with almost no stairs or far from center. Very clean, modern, self-contained with kitchen, freeze, 4 bottles of water!!!, espresso machine with capsules, sugar, milk, everything.

I stayed at Hydras Ruby for a week from July 23 to July 31, this year in summer 2021 as Covid vaccinations began to allow people to travel again. What I was looking for was somewhere calm, restful and practical to use as base for exploring the island of Hydra. What I got was a warm welcome from both of my hosts, IIias and Alexandra, (Ilias came to pick me up from the boat when I arrived and arranged for my suitcase to be brought to the apartment, and Alexandra showed me around the studio). Ruby is a lovely, impeccably clean, bright, fully-equipped studio apartment. I was offered plenty of advice and suggestions about things to see and do, felt a sense of security (all over the island generally but also in the house where the studio is located) and had friendly daily contact with my hosts who regularly checked if everything was OK for me and if I needed anything at all. Hydra is absolutely beautiful and Ruby was, for me, the perfect place to stay. Ruby is central, yet very calm, independent, well-equipped and very comfortable. My hosts were very helpful and kind. IIlias even accompanied me back to the boat the morning I was leaving and gave me an early wake-up call! I had a lovely experience of the island generally (museums, art exhibitions, great swimming, fabulous food, plenty of shops to browse, an interesting day trip around the island narrated by a captain who was full of local history and charming legends and anecdotes) and a particularly positive experience in the accommodation I had chosen. I would recommend Ruby to a couple or anyone travelling alone, without hesitation!

The only thing to bear in mind with this apartment is that it is on the ground floor, down a tiny alleyway - there isn't really much of a view and you do need to close the shutters/curtains if you want privacy. Having said that, I only saw about two people walk along the alley the whole time I was there.

Hydra's Ruby was incredibly quiet, clean and well appointed, with fresh towels and water every day. The owners were easy to contact (Ilias has his office in the same building) and helpful, especially with logistics questions. The breakfast supplies for the first night were a nice touch. The apartment is located just before the stairs up the hill get really steep, far enough away from the port that you don't get day trippers or noise. You do tend to get lost on the first morning but that's all part of the charm! Netflix was great when it was too hot to go out in the afternoon. Overall I would definitely recommend it as a reasonable place to stay, even in high summer. Being able to cook was a real bonus, as Hydra can get pricey.
