Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsWe were with four adults and two kids. The apartment is huge and never like we've seen before. We have loved every minute of our stay!

United StatesTaking a shower in the back bedroom always led to flooding on the floor. It would be better if you had an enclosed shower. It was impossible to take a shower in the main bathroom, given the fact that there was no door or shield from water spray. We are not smokers, and we can smell that in one of the bedrooms a smoker had left a trail of stench.
Very spacious and well equipped. The kitchen was a marvel. This was the very best apartment we’ve ever been to for a family.

United StatesWe were a family of 4 staying in the wonderful Manolia apartment. The apartment itself is clean, well appointed, had everything a family would need for a weeks stay (toiletries, towels, linens). Manolia was a wonderful host, the check in and out process was a breeze. Location of the property was absolutely perfect (across the street from beaches, close to stores and restaurants, had parking on premises, 25 minute drive to the Old Town Chania). This is a perfect rental for a family who wants to enjoy the beaches in close proximity or drive anywhere to explore the rest of the island. Manolia has been a tremendous help when needed and was very responsive to every message.

GermanyThe place was great, but two things could make it even better: • A Workstation: There wasn’t really a proper place to work on my laptop. There’s a kitchen table and a dining table, but in both cases the table was either too high or the chairs too low for me (and the chairs aren’t well-suited for long hours of sitting). I worked around this by taking a small desk from one of the bedrooms and placing it in front of the main TV in the living room. I then connected my MacBook and used the big screen as my external display. The chair still wasn’t great, but I was able to make do with this. If the place had a proper desk and chair for those needing to get some work done, that would be super great. • The Gym: Some of the gym equipment is a bit old (the threadmill for example is basically unusable). However the gym belongs to the hotel next door (2 min walk), so it’s not something Manolia can do anything about. Despite some of the equipment being a bit old, I did go regularly during my month there, using the pedal bike, step machine, dip station, weights, and benches—and since it was January, I was the only person using it, so that was great. Neither of these take away from the fact that it was a great place to stay!
Spent a wonderful quiet January here. The town is almost completely dead in winter (for me that was perfectly fine as I was just working; if you go in winter, Cool Café [15 min walk] is your friend). Directly next door is a café called Isida which has all the basics and is open every day except Sunday (it was the owner of this café that handed over the keys when I arrived). Despite the town being a little lifeless, I had a wonderful quiet month of work here. I took a daily walk down at the nice sandy beach—often without another soul in sight. The apartment itself is great: 3 bedrooms, each with a large TV. I used the master bedroom the most, but later realized that one of the other beds was more suitable for me (I prefer a slightly softer mattress). The jacuzzi works and is a nice way to relax (note that while you have a hand-held showerhead in the tub, the only proper shower is off the master bedroom). The kitchen is fully-equipped with pretty much anything you need—espresso machine, pots, pans, spatulas, cutlery, sharp knives, chopping boards, mugs, shot glasses, wine glasses, etc. I particularly loved the orange juicer (cut the orange in half and press down to make it spin). There’s a full-sized dishwasher, and both a washing machine and dryer for clothes and towels. The entire roof is yours to lounge around on, which is great! You have a panoramic view of the sea and the faint roar of waves, and can watch the sun set up there. I often went up there with my laptop to do some work (WiFi works up there, but you might face occasional lags on video calls). There are numerous AC units throughout the house—I don’t know how well they cool the place, as in January I was only using them for heat, but they seemed to work well. Don’t know if I’m forgetting any pertinent details—but in summary, it was great! Although I didn’t meet the host in person, they were very responsive and helpful, and they sent a cleaning service several times (no extra cost). Thanks Manolia!

PolandThe apartment is more than marvellous! It's spacious, comfortable, fully furnished and equipped and the sea view from the living room simply takes your breath away! Among the numerous pluses of the place the most important seem to be the following: - high standard of the apartment - perfectly working air conditioning - comfortable beds, - fully equipped kitchen & bathroom - beautiful terraces (next to the kitchen and roof terrace) where you can enjoy your meals and spend relaxing time - private staircase and patio (nobody interrupts you) - cleaning service and regular change of towels - beautiful beach (30 meters) The apartment is conveniently located. The panoramic window in the living room overlooks the sea. There are plenty of cafes, restaurants, shops, car rentals etc. nearby (everything you may need is close to you!). The swimming pool you can you for free is located 60 metres from the apartment - it is clean and offers comfortable sunbeds. There is also a bus stop and regular bus service (you can get with no problem to Chania and other places). Most of all, however, we were impressed by the hospitality of the hosts - we had never experienced such genuine hospitality before! Manolia and Nikos are simply "Dream Hosts" - from the very first minutes of your stay (and even before - when you make your final arrangements concerning the time of your arrival or ordering taxi service to pick you up from the airport etc.), they take care of every detail. They keep in touch with you, answer every question you might have, offer helpful advice, suggest places worth visiting and are simply there whenever you need them! I believe that it's always the people who make places unique and Nikos and his wife are the ones who will for sure make your holiday unforgettable! They filled the fridge with all the basic products you may need on your arrival, as well as cold drinks and fresh local fruit. Some sweet surprises awaited the children as well!

This was by far the best apartment we have ever rented for a holiday: plenty of space for everyone, everything you could ever need is provided (and then some more), the beach is across the street, super market 10 meters, lots of nice restaurants nearby and the owner is the most kind and helpful person! We were also able to use the pool & gym of the hotel next door which was really nice.
