Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Kingdom- There is a kettle in the room, but nothing else. No coffee, no complimentary bottle or water or any welcome gift (the little touches really do count!) - Breakfast is basic compared to other places. Would be good if they rotated a couple of options - The walls are thin and I found it a bit difficult to sleep Our first night was disappointing. We ordered dinner and the olive oil and vinegar both had many dead flies loating in them. (Multiple bottles.) We had poured these over our salad. No replacement salad and/or oils were offered and we were charged full price. Not even a complimentary dessert or Ouzo (which we hinted at) which is standard practice in Greece anyway. A big cockroach then ran passed our table and we thought it time for bed. It is a lovely space, but as we have both worked in hospitality, the customer service put us off. (The lady is friendly though!)
- Pretty setting - Stone beach across the road - 30 min walk to town and quite easy to navigate the bus back - Lovely sunrise - Spacious and clean room that is cleaned daily - Peaceful location - Clean pool - Taxi to airport 20-25 Euro. Bus is a bit tricky as you'll need to get 2

GreeceIt is quite a walk into town so I would recommend hiring a bike or electric scooter. However, it is a beautiful walk along a beach road, but in the night can be dark in some patches.
Renata is a gem! Nothing is too much trouble and she always has a smile and a lovely energy. The family are really friendly and helpful. The place is peaceful and relaxed. The breakfast was a good variety. We were really happy with our stay and how welcome we were made to feel. We took the half board option and the dinners were freshly home-cooked and obviously made with love. We highly recommend.

United Kingdomwe found it hard to find cool spots in the very hot weather. We felt the shady side of the building could be exploited as a shady area rather than just access. The umbrellas are too small to give good shade for large parts of the day
Breakfast was fine but the same every day. The orange juice was too sweet for our taste. The owners and their staff make you very welcome and are very willing to help if needed

United KingdomIt’s not that easy to get into the main town. There is a regular bus service but not in the afternoon and it can get extremely busy coming back. Otherwise it’s a good 30 min walk.
The private beach was just over the road and there was always a choice of sun beds on the beach or by the pool. Rooms were spacious with balcony or terrace. The food was really good - half board was great value. There is no choice of dish but the chef was accommodating towards dietary requirements. The staff were all very helpful and went out of their way for us.

Czech RepublicThere was nothing I didnt like but it would be great if the menu for dinner was listed somewhere in advance so that you can plan accordingly. We were also missing more fish dishes in the dinner menu.
The location is perfect. The hotel is right next to the sea. All of the facilities in the hotel were clean and well maintained. The staff was super friendly and always ready to answer our questions. The Greek night was a highlight of our stay. The hotel is perfect for people seeking relax in a quiet area.

United KingdomThe toilet could on a occasion take a very long time to refill. Sometimes the water could go off altogether. Sometimes there could be a smell from the shower drain. These problems were only once or twice though. The air conditioning worked excellent although it was quite noisy if you needed it on through the night. It was hard to get to the town centre at times, the staff tried their best to help but taxis were in short supply.the bus timetable was an absolute mystery. With hind sight we should of booked taxis earlier in the day for later on.when you got a taxi it was great five minutes and you were in town. Not the fault of the hotel for me,not enough taxis to go round in kardamena.
The owners and staff were excellent,so friendly and helpful.it was obvious how genuinely they cared about your stay, special mention for Thanasis and Niko, hard working lovely people. The pool area was gorgeous, really clean with loads of space.always a sunbed available. The hotel overall was spotless and the room was cleaned daily. The place is chilled and peaceful with lovely seaviews. The food was lovely with lots of choice. The BBQ and Greek night(not usually my kind of thing)was brilliant.loads of delicious food and great fun. Loads of room in the bar area.

Italythe structure is welcoming and presents a good quality price. The city center is about twenty minutes on foot, but taxi prices are all in all low. The owners, Renata and George, are very nice, always available and smiling for any eventuality, as well as their Son, Niko, who takes care of the restaurant instead, serving every customer very well. The quality of the food certainly raises the standard of the hotel, very good and varied every evening, with specialties and attentions from the chef. I would also like to correct reviews read before my stay, parking and sunbeds by the sea are no longer paid but included in the price. The only thing left to pay is the air conditioning, which I personally did not use, as the place is always and constantly ventilated. The only advice I would like to give to the structure is to try to emphasize the beauty of the place and the goodness of the restaurant, even with music or activities that encourage customers to stay in the structure and enjoy George's good food!

FranceIt's a shame that the pool is open only from 9 am to 7 pm. We would have loved to go to the pool after a day of visits. Extending the pool time to at least 9 pm would be great. Also we would have appreciated having the breakfast earlier.
We really enjoyed that family hôtel. Renata really helped us during our stay. This is a clean hôtel, the view and the pool are great. Also it's practical to be there as it's in the middle of the island.

SloveniaRooms could be equipped with a basic set of cutlery if you decide to have a little snack or some fruit - more of a suggestion than a critique really.
Friendly staff, from the cleaning lady up to the waiters and the hosts! Amazing food. We had halfboard and were surprised at first that we didn't get any info, what are they preparing for the dinner but we soon got used to it, as the food was simply delicious and we were anxious every evening what we're gonna get tonight. Also because our daughter is suffering from several allergies, they prepared meals for her according to her needs at no extra cost. Small beach full of sea life ideal for snorkelling just across the street.
