The pool is rather small with limited sunbeds

Beautiful buildings, decoration and architecture in a small cosy village but still close to the airport (25 minutes) The staff is super friendly and eye for service. We benefitted from a room upgrade which was just amazing.

My first solo trip and I was not disappointed, I was made to feel so welcome and safe, staff took time to get to know me and made sure my stay went smoothly. The hotel itself is the most beautiful hotel iv stayed in, attention to detail, just stunning, amazing location. Such a relaxing calming environment which is exactly what I needed.

That I couldnl't stay longer.

Everything was wonderful, but especially managment and the staff was amazing. I had to change my dates twice because of flight cancellations and they accommodated them right away and also stayed late to wait for me when I missed my connecting flight. They also offered to arrange a pick-up at the airport, but because I had a rental car, didn't need it. The room was amazing, with its unique wooden interior and scent. Very cozy. It was only a twenty miunte drive from the airport and easy to find. I would stay there again in a heartbeat!

I think the location is the negative thing about this place. Even the taxi drivers were confused to get there.

The aesthetic and the decoration is top in this place. The combination of colours gives you this sense of calm and tranquility that I was looking for. The staff was very friendly and I really felt warm and welcomed.

The room (Ficcus) has no window, the room door with an integrated window leads directly onto the street. For privacy you have to close the curtain, then you no longer have daylight. Very noisy, you can hear every word from next door and every step from above. OK for 2 nights, not for longer.

Beautiful, large, cozy room with a dream bathroom. Good breakfast, also with cappuccino if desired. Beds very comfortable. The free bottle of wine was delicious. Perfect if you land in Herklion in the evening and want to see Knossos the next day.

Was somewhat difficult to find, initially!

We were so happy to be in Archanes, which was quiet with an interesting museum and old town, away from the busyness of Heraklion. Still so close to Knossos and with its own archeological treasures and contributions to the museum in Heraklion.

Pool area felt quite claustrophobic with limited sun bed facilities (only four). The rooms are arranged around the pool, so noise travels easily and it also feels very overlooked as people by the pool can look in through the room windows unless you have the curtains drawn. Construction work started nearby at 7.30am. A few items weren’t working properly - the shower door seal was brown and perished and so leaked water, and the bathroom door handle was loose in the door. The soap dispenser was also broken so we couldn’t use it and used the shampoo to wash our hands instead. Overall, not a 5* experience.

Nothing! It was superb!

We absolutely loved everything about this hotel. It’s truly stunning! The design, the furnishings, the staff, it was all wonderful! The pool area is gorgeous! Such a peaceful place. Our room was small (we knew this when booking), but beautifully appointed. Everything you need for a relaxing stay. If you have large suitcases and lots of clothes with you, choose one on the larger rooms or suites. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious and the Bistro’s vibe, furnishings and food were delightful. Set in a lovely little town, with plenty of great restaurants, a short walk away. We had a great stay and would highly recommend.

Everything was great.

We stayed here for a week, and it was beautiful and relaxing. Archanes is a lovely, quiet village set in the mountains and surrounded by olive trees - offering a much more serene setting compared to nearby Heraklion. The property is thoughtfully designed and kept in a really clean condition. The staff are a special highlight - Anastasia, Anny, Christina, the two Nikos's and Manos were delightfully friendly and endlessly accomodating. The chefs and cleaning staff were also fantastic. If you're looking to really disconnect and relax, I highly recommend Manili.

There was nothing that we didn’t like

Accommodation is excellent - high standard with a great balance bringing together modern facilities with traditional features. The staff are fabulous - very welcoming, helpful and friendly. Breakfast is great with a good choice each day and the bistro serves.very good food - great for a pre-dinner or a final cocktail too! Archanes is a great location - some lovely tavernas and a very local feeling but easy to travel to other areas of the island too - a great base.

Value for money is just ok. My main gripe is that they advertise as a five-star stay, but it’s very far from reality. No gym, barely acceptable breakfast with no live food stations, wooden ceilings where u can hear the upstairs neighbour’s every single step VERY loudly, minuscule pool, no porter service, room door that opens on the alley open to cars and restaurant right in front. Not five star to me.

Room decoration is great. We stayed in Ficus room. Room faces the alley which gives a cool hamlet feel, but makes it challenging with luggage, car access.

Listing on Booking.com wasn't quite accurate regarding bed sizes and therefore didn't accommodate our group of friends as we had planned. Once pointed out to the staff they quickly sorted the bed arrangement and changed the wording on the listing.

The rooms arent sound proof so you might get annoyed during the day by the sound of noise.

The staff were amazing, very relaxing place to just disconnect. And the food was super!
