Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyRoom was very small, same goes for the bathroom. Bathroom wasn't properly cleaned under the sink. Even though we requested a room with a nice view weeks upfront, we received a room with a balcony facing a wall. That was disappointing
We liked the location, local nice neighborhood, not too far from all the sights and bus station. Bakery, supermarket, bus stop close by. Easy and fast checkin

United StatesWe loved the location in a residential neighborhood close to the Acropolis. We walked everywhere from there but we do like to walk. The Marble House is exceptionally clean and quiet. Our room with 3 beds was small but fine for the excellent value. We paid extra to have air conditioning but as it was hot out it was worth it.

CanadaThe location was perfect! Right in Koukaki and close to the Acropolis. The room was very clean and the staff all so friendly and welcoming. Before booking I read about the rooms and so I picked a room with an ensuite bathroom and inner balcony, just do your research and you can have the room you would like if you book early enough. I highly recommend this hotel!

GreeceBooked this for my U.S friend. He says : "My first time in Athens could not have been better due in part to the fact that where I stayed in the city of Athena at the Marble House was the perfect location and most wonderful neighborhood to easily experience and “feel” part of the city! Aside from location thought the accommodations were perfect. The room with great air conditioning and lovely aesthetic made me feel comfortable and it was quiet at night and I slept well. Most importantly to me the staff Manos at the front desk as well as the daily cleaning crew were extremely personable and friendly. Not only do I plan on staying at The Marble House again when I return to Athens I do not ever plan on staying anywhere else!"

QatarThe bathroom was a bit small, but it’s to be expected with a historic building.
Friendly, helpful staff. It’s extremely well situated near the city centre and a short walk to transit. Beautiful hotel tucked away in a quieter street. Great communication from staff by message with instructions to get into the property after hours.

United KingdomWe did have room on the 3rd floor which is a bit of a climb. No lift. Not recommended if you have mobility issues unless you can get ground floor.
Really good location 10mins walk from Acropolis Museum. Clean rooms with good A/C. Really helpful and friendly staff who have good recommendations to eat nearby. In a residential area that isn't too touristy and with good value places to eat. Exceptional value.

United StatesWe were totally satisfied with our stay. Great value, great option for families in Athens.
This is a ground floor family apartment next door to a boutique hotel that is a fifteen minute walk away from the Acropolis and Plaka. We loved having a fridge, microwave, and privacy. The housekeeping staff maintains the property extremely well, and it’s on a quiet street, around the corner from a church. There are pedestrian walkways with cafes, bakeries, supermarkets, pharmacies nearby for anything you forgot at home. If you want to stay somewhere calm and comfortable a bit away from the crowds with your family this is it. And the air conditioning worked very well on a hot day! Our son loved also seeing the cats who live outside.

JapanUnfortunately you have to pay extra to have air-conditioning. The bathroom is shared with the people on the same floor.
It is located at a very lively area, with many bars and restaurants around. The personnel is kind and helpful. They allowed me to leave my luggage with them for a few hours after check out.

AustraliaThere was a cockroach in the bathroom which wasn't pleasant but aside from that there was no other problems. Also it's good there was a ceiling fan because having to pay for A/C is ridiculous.

Italy- The 5€ extra charge, per day, for the AC is really incomprehensible, and a bit annoying. - No breakfast option.
- Location: close to a metro stop and in a nice neighbourhood. Also, the Athens main sights are not far on foot. - Lovely balcony. - Helpful staff.

IrelandVery little, only thing I can think of would be a lack of tea/coffee facilities or at least that I was aware of. However it is surrounded by several great cafes that are very affordable
A lot to like about this hotel at a great price for what you get. Christos at reception was exemplary at providing a great service. Only disappointment was that it was for just a single night due to no vacancies following night so my advice would be to get it while you can.

ItalyThe room was quite small: there is barely any space between the bed and the table by the balcony door to squeeze through. A chair would have been appreciated. The guests staying in the rooms next to mine were very loud (shouting and playing loud music with doors open in the middle of the night). This is not the staff's fault, of course, and they did their best to mitigate this. I understand this is a 1-star hotel, but charging extra for use of A/C does not seem fair to me. It's Athens, after all: A/C was indispensable to survive, especially as when I was there there was an exceptional heatwave (up to 43° during the day).
The property is in the center of Athens, quite close to the Acropolis (one metro station away). The closest metro station on the red line is only a 5 minute walk from the property, and there's plenty of food options nearby (check out the Bread Factory for anything from breakfast to ice creams, sweets of all kinds, breads, beverages, and lunch options). The hotel is located in a cul-de-sac and is very quiet. Staff was very friendly and informative.
