The location was excellent for our one night stopover in Athens. The owner of the property responded instantly when we asked any questions and had us all ready to go with access codes before arriving.

This was NOT as advertised. With the heat wave in Greece our first priority was air conditioning. This apartment said it was air conditioned and we specifically checked the pictures posted to confirm there was air conditioning in the bedrooms. When we arrived, there was one small air conditioner in the living room and a broken one is one bedroom. Both bedrooms were down a long hall. They both had ceiling fans but in the one room it only worked with the light on. The temperature was over 42 degrees and we could not sleep there. I contacted Booking com to see if they would help me so we could go to a hotel nearby and actually sleep, but after leaving me on hold for over 20 minutes and promising to call back which they did not, we slept on the floor under the air conditioner in the living room. The man told me there was a disclaimer on the website that the air conditioner had never worked. I received an email the next morning that Booking.com had contacted the owner and he couldn't do anything. I expected more from Booking.com on this very disappointing stay.

They were constant quarrels in the building; we didn't call the police just because we didn't know the language. The only working air conditioner were in the living room. It is impossible to sleep in the bedrooms with just ceiling fans. There’s one A/C in one of the bedrooms but it doesn't work and this information is not informed in the apartment’s post The landlord is very nice until there is some issue needs to be solved.

A few frustrating things. There was no hot water. We emailed the host and he was very prompt in getting back to us. We learned we had to activate a switch. I have never come across that before. A note in the apartment would be useful. The apartment was on the fourth floor. The elevator was fine but the stairs and hallway were completely dark. We needed to use our phones to light the way. A light over the apartment door would be helpful. There was no extra toilet paper when the roll by the toilet was used up. Fortunately we had tissue in the car. We would otherwise not have known where to find it. Laundry: one reason we selected this property was using laundry facilities in the middle of a two week trip. However, the washing machine controls were entirely in Greek and so was the manual. I finally found a manual on the internet in English. There was no clothes dryer. There were clothespins but no line to hang the clothes from the balcony. We made do with hangers and a camping line I had fortunately brought. Finally as a courtesy it would be nice to have ground coffee, as the host provides an excellent coffee maker and kettle and filters. It is convenient to have coffee before getting dressed to go out. To me (and as a former Air BnB "super host") coffee was one amenity that guests came to expect. These are perhaps small things, but to me that is what separates a good property from a great one.

There were many things to like about the booking. The host was an excellent communicator. We were unsure of our arrival time but the host was accommodating. Key exchange was efficient. The apartment was spacious, stylish, and very clean, and in a very convenient location. The kitchen was well equipped and the beds comfortable. There were two balconies that were enjoyable. Internet was excellent. The price was fair. It was a perfect location and accommodation for us before taking a ferry to the island and for that we are grateful.

No AC in bedrooms Beds in room 2 are child size The fridge was totally empty not even water. There was a kettle but no coffee, tea, sugar or milk. We asked for them and only a small box of Nescafe, sugar, and only 3 small bottles of water were provided, although we were 4 persons I wish to cancel my booking for the 23rd of July without any cancellation fees. Awaiting your prompt reply.
