Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyNothing. We were not bothered by the set of stairs as mentioned in other reviews.
We stayed for two nights to hike mount Psiloritis. The apartment was authentically decorated, spotless clean and very comfortable. The view from the balcony was amazing. The highlight was the apartment’s owner, the lovely and charming Miss Poppy, who made us feel very welcome. She invited us for coffee and breakfast and let us see a part of Cretan culture that we could not find elsewhere on the island. We would warm heartedly recommend this place! Thank you Miss Poppy for everything! Karin & Guus

United KingdomEven though there was a cooker and fridge freezer, the space was not suitable for cooking even a simple meal.
Poppy was extremely friendly and helpful, the location and view from the balcony was incredible. Bed really comfortable, interesting furnishings!

GreeceA beautiful apartment, lavishly decorated with Cretan art, traditional decorations, antique tools and utensils and beautiful, patterned carpets and textiles. Poppy, the host, was very helpful, full of good cheer and always ready to assist. The apartment was impeccably clean and the view outside just stunning. Can't recommend it enough!

If you want stay in small, very local style, comfortable hotel, clean room/apartment with the friendliest hostess you can imagine - this is the place. (Thank you Popi for the fresh home made dolmades). Arriving on my precious bicycle I was immediately offered safe storage for my bicycle - very appreciated).

Czech RepublicWe came to hike Psiloritis, so we really don't mind just a few stairs.
Stunning mountain view!! Finally, a comfy, not too soft bed. The room is authentic, the kitchen is well-equiped, and the bathroom is big enough :). Mrs Poppi waited for us until late (!!) and later baked us little something sweet and made us a good Cretan coffee. Communication with Mrs Poppi and her son also wonderful.

Beautiful accommodation, super location and great view (although you have to take some stairs for that). In addition, we were very nicely taken care of. From the accommodation you can get directly to the center and to some restaurants and cafes. We have felt very comfortable

United StatesThis is a fantastic place to stay in Anogia. The host, Popi, is incredibly caring and warm, always making sure you have plenty to eat, offering to make a coffee, and checking in about how the stay is going. Also, she is a skilled weaver, and the apartment is full to the brim with handmade things that make you feel the care put into this place. The view from the balcony is spectacular, taking in both the sea and the ridge of Psiloritis. I really cannot recommend this place highly enough, thank you for a wonderful stay!

TurkeyAs we only stayed one night, we didn’t use the kitchen. That could feel a little small if you intend to use it, but we are not sure.
Very lovely host, amazing views and clean authentic room. We arrived late in the evening and only stayed one night, so we experienced the great view for a short while. Next time we are gonne be sure to spend a little bit more time in this lovely place. Poppy was very welcoming. We found the apartment extremly clean, although there are many small items for decoration.

LithuaniaIt was a little bit too dark and cold in the shower (maybe because it is all made from the bricks of stones and there is no window). Also you have to keep in mind that if you want to reach your room, you have to climb 29 steps. But if you have no problems with a health it will be not a problem.
Good location with a view to the mountains, parking place near property, good facilities at the kitchen - we had everything we need. Extremely friendly owner and her dog. She met us when we arrived, served a very good mountain tea and some snacks. And as many review say - property is like a little ethnographic museum. So many old stuff but despite that it was very clean and comfortable.

Italyfor us, the room was too overcrowded with stuff and objects but this is part of the ‘traditional’ character of the room. similarly to many houses in Anogia there is a very steepy staircase to reach the room.
traditional and sunny apartment in the centre of Anogia. it is a perfect base to explore the Psiloritis region. Poppi, the owner, was very nice and welcoming.
