Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CyprusWindows noise reduction could be better. Thankfully the staff accepted our request to move to a room opposite the street.
Location. The hotel is in the center so everything is walking distance. Rooms were cozy and spacious.

GermanyThe hotel is located in a very lively neighbourhood where there is also a lot going on at night. The room had several windows of which only one could be opened. Unfortunately, this window is therefore not noise-insulated and even when closed there is still a lot of noise coming in from outside. This is difficult for noise-sensitive sleepers.
The accommodation is very centrally located and easy to reach. It is located in a very lively neighbourhood with many bars, cafes and restaurants. The room was very stylishly furnished, clean and had everything we needed. A particular highlight is of course the whirlpool in the room.

LatviaThese things would not lower our exceptional score, but: Few bottles of drinking water is provided but its tap water (so if you are not used to chlorine - better to bring your own). The bathroom might be a bit too dark for ladies to do their make-up. It seemed a bit odd that our terrace has window to a different apartment hallway (it seemed like a entrance hallway) - it would be better if they would put a matt foil over it.
Everything was great! Amazing terrace, ability to easily regulate room temperature and of course - the bathtub!

United StatesFrom the moment we checked in, we loved everything about this hotel. The lobby is clean and modern, and the staff are all very friendly. We arrived before our room was ready, but the staff happily held our bags for us while we explored the city until the room was ready. After getting the room, we were stunned by how beautiful it was. It was a large room, with a balcony overlooking the city. There was also a small refrigerator, a lounging area, and a record player. The bed was very comfortable. The rooftop is stunning, with the views of the city and even the Parthenon! We spent a couple of evenings up there, listening to live music from the square below and watching the sun set behind the mountains. When we were there in April, we never encountered another guest on the rooftop, so it was like our own private space. If you stay on the 6th floor, you practically have a private elevator, as it opens directly into the room. Don't worry though, it only opens to the room with a private code. The front desk agent, Martha, was very helpful throughout our stay. She made recommendations for lunch and dinner, and different attractions around town. I highly recommend you stay here during your time in Athens. It's like a private luxury suite in the middle of the city.

United KingdomThe great location meant that it could be quite loud in the evening, but it didn't spoil our stay at all. There is a good roof terrace, but feels like more could be made of this!
The location is incredible. Just a minute's walk from Monastiraki square and station. Lovely breakfast in the cafe opposite the small hotel. Great bars all around. Very helpful and friendly staff, always available by Whatsapp if needed.

BulgariaThe only disadvantage is that there is no parking at the hotel and if you are with car (as we did), you should arrange the parking and pay it by your own (about 75 Euro for 5 days). For the people that prefer more quiet place, it could be a bit noise because of the music from the Taverna till midnight during the weekends.
The breakfast was in the bistro across the street and it was good. The Location is great in the heart of Athens in Monasteraky area. The best Taverna in the area with live Greek music is just outside at the front of the hotel.

United KingdomEverything was great. However, I would recommend having early breakfast as the waiting time can be long when it gets busier from around 9am. The hotel is on a busy street and it gets noisy in the evening, but this was to be expected.
The location and room were perfect. Balcony was excellent. Staff were very friendly and gave useful recommendations. Easy check-in/out process and decent breakfast. Would highly recommend!!

IsraelWe were on the first floor, and we could hear the sounds from the street very well.
The hotel is so cute, the room is specious clean, very nice design, you can get breakfast in the coffee places around the psiri square. The location is right near the square. You step out, and you are near everything. Just start walking. The reception team was super helpful, got us rides ti and from the airport, and because we had to leave very early, she booked us a breakfast box to the room. We LOVED to stay here.

United KingdomDid not give 10 as the room decor was tired with stained cushions on the seating area and a cigarette burn - would warrant cleaning or upholstering. The floor had a bit of water damage near the jacuzzi and the metal holder in the bathroom was rusting. Just took the shine off what would have been a perfect hotel otherwise. Would have appreciated recognition of birthday celebrations. Old breakfast menu allowed for hot drink and orange juice but the and sign had been scribbled out and replaced with a slash, so you could only have one or the other and pay for any extras. Appeared to be the same scenario at the other breakfast options. Again just took the shine off the overall experience - should really replace the menus as looks a bit tacky. Would really expect a hot drink and juice to be included with breakfast however.
Nice boutique hotel in lively neighbourhood. Communication with hotel was good before arrival and during stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful on every occasion, helping us with room issues (no hot water on first night) and allowing for a late check out - they were both great. Seating area downstairs that we never used but looked very stylish. Rooftop terrace was excellent, almost 360o views across Athens taking in Lycabettus Hill, Pysiri, Monastiraki, Plaka round to the Acropolis and as far as the sea. We visited it frequently but never encountered any other guests so it was like having a private terrace. The room faced the mural and was beside the elevator - but we had no issue with noise at any time (may be different at the weekend). The jacuzzi was excellent. Room was very clean and lots of amenities - corkscrew, cups, glasses, fridge, coffee maker. Breakfast options were Zoubourlou, Frogs or Liosporous. We chose Zoubourlou and didn't try the others, as we were happy with our first choice. Breakfast was good - good quality food and great coffee. Had the breakfast basket, which had spinach pie, olives, tomatoes, cheese with plenty of bread and spreads.

IsraelThe pillows were a little too hard, but the bed was still comfortable and that is also so marginal in relation to the rest of what the hotel provides, so really- no complaints
The hotel gave a complete and amazing experience, which makes you want to return to Athens just for the hotel! The location in the center is excellent and close to everything - restaurants, metro station and tourist sites. The room is large, spacious, wonderfully decorated, clean. The reception staff is always nice and always helpful. The cafe that offers a wonderful breakfast. Just a pleasure, waiting to return to Athens just to return to the Melo Hotel!
