We liked the everything.

A lovely spacious room with everything we needed - comfortable beds and great shower - Maria the owner is very friendly and helpful - we were there early in the season so it was very quiet. The only walkable restaurant nearby shut around 9.00 pm - but the food and wine were very good. There is a fantastic view of the ancient site from the patio at the front of the hotel.

Beautiful rustic building of wood and stone very warm welcome from Maria, generous breakfast with delicious homemade produce. The charming mountain village is quiet in the off season, perfect for seeing the spectacular ruins of Messene. We loved it.

Bathroom a little dark

Wonderful host - very friendly and helpful. Lovely property. Spacious and clean room. Superb breakfast!!(Local homemade delicacies and produce from the garden). Lovely town and so close to the museum and archaeological site.

The hotel is situated in a quite area directly above the achaeological site of Messene. Although we did not have a view of the archaeological site from our room, there was a fabulous view of the entire site from the other side of the road just across from the hotel, where we parked our car without any difficulty (there was no on-site parking at the hotel). There is a very nice restaurant with a terrace overlooking Messene a few steps down the road from the hotel. There was an excellent breakfast (5€ extra), which included a huge number of delicious items from which to choose.

We stayed at Messana hotel for one night when we visited the site of ancient Messini. Our room was spacious an d cozy. The owner, Maria, is an incredible host. She was waiting for us when we arrived. We were looking for the right building and she came outside and asked if we were looking for hotel Messana. She showed us our room and told us about all the things to see in the area. We were the only guests staying at the hotel that night, but our breakfast the next morning was fabulous! The whole table was filled with so many different foods. Most of them were local and Greek specialties. Absolutely incredible effort for just two guests! Thank you so much Maria for the wonderful hospitality!

The frosted glass window in the corridor door let the light through all night. A shade would fix this.

Perfect small hotel for me. The room was cozy with wood floors, stone walls, a comfortable bed, good WiFi. Excellent location for visiting sites in the area as I like a quiet place in a small village. I would even stay here to visit Kalamata. The breakfast buffet was very good with many local products to choose from. I arrived late in the day so street parking was easy. Short walk to a good restaurant overlooking Ancient Messini.

The morning coffee… awful … but the breakfast was superb an amazing selection of traditional Greek foods beautifully set out buffet style. Cold instant coffee let the show down.

There was an amazing view from the balcony to the village and the archaeological site. The shower was spacious and very comfortable. The breakfast is just delicious. The staff was very nice and helpful. Very easy to get to the archaeological site and to the museum.

Characteristically Messini stone structure ! 7 rooms only hotel with all you possibly need. Great taverna in village , only steps away . Best of all > from your balcony looking down at Ancient Messini !!!

Wish they would have simple plug in night lights so you don’t have to turn on a super bright light if you got up to pee. Also after 8pm there is no one manning the front so a door code is mentioned when you check in but if you don’t pay attention or forget it you could get locked out so maybe having it emailed in the itinerary would be helpful. These are just observances and not negative reflections on our stay.

The location was beautiful overlooking the ancient archaeological site. The building is stunning. The owner was absolutely lovely. There’s the option of having a nice breakfast added with local foods and the rooms have cute small balconies to sit out on or a lovely little courtyard. The building is also located in a lovely quiet little town. There’s no parking at the building but lots of street parking a 1 minute walk away along the main road.

A small village on the slope of a mountain with a magnificent view of the archeological site of ancient Messene. The inn is a VERY beautiful little gem, arranged and furnished with great taste and managed with the utmost kindness by Maria. A particular mention for the breakfast: too bad we had just one belly each to fill. Top-notch hospitality. Thanks.

The hotel was a great place to stay for us, the scenery was amazing. The room was well kept and very clean. The bathroom facilities were new and the shower was amazing. The breakfast was traditional greek and delicious. Quite a large selection to choose from. The host was very welcoming and helpful.
