Live like a local in a miniature village while enyoing your privacy and space!

Location was a bit hard to get to and move around from but that’s something the property owner cant change. All the roads that let to the tiny village were asphalt/paved roads so all in all it was good.

Felt like a local! Very private and very comfortable, a lot of space.

Address on Booking.com took us to the next town. Dropped pin is accurate, although didn't think to try it as a) I was in a taxi, B) was feeling unwell after a rough ferry trip and running 4 hours late. Internet instructions given were wrong. Eventually got sorted, but it was unreliable, and possibly not secure. Was told bus was a 45 minute ride. Not told it would take about an hour to walk uphill to the bus stop.

Authentic house with modern facilities. Great renovations. Location was in a quiet remote village, which is what I wanted. Lovely birds and only the odd car. Very happy with that. Didn't realise that I really needed a car. Or be prepared to pay a lot for a taxi from Heraklion. No local taxi. House was comfortable and quiet. Breakfast DIY from some basic ingredients.

We loved our time at the cottage. It was suitable to explore the north and south coasts of Crete.

Google maps seemed to have the house pin in the wrong place. The property address given put the pin in Krousona. Some idea in advance of suitable places to park the car would have been useful. A friendly local helped us with this and the property location. Due to a number of barking, unleashed dogs, we were unable to explore the village fully.

The location of the small mountain village of Sarchos was exactly the experience what we wanted. The provided breakfasts were delicious and the whole house very comfortable. The village store was a quick walk away and good for a few basic supplies.

Beautiful, relaxing and conformable cottage - however in a quite remote location

We found the check-in process quite disappointing as it was after dark when we arrived and the address took us to a different location using google maps. After switching to apple maps the location was found however it took us a while to locate the main gate to the property as there are no photos of the gate on booking.com description. The lighting outside the property is non-existent and we relied on our mobile phones light to find our way around to collect the keys and open the door. Mobile network coverage is limited and very patchy so communicating with the host was only possible once we logged into the wifi. We found out that the tap water was not drinkable and there was also no bottled water on our arrival. Luckily there's the one and only shop in the village that we managed to get into just before 10pm to quench our thirst.

We liked the rustic style of the stone house cottage that was very tastefully decorated. We enjoyed the tranquility of the surroundings and olive trees everywhere. Breakfast was adequate and the kitchen is extremely well equipped. There is a lovely story of the home restoration with before and after pictures near the staircase.

I loved all of the nature sounds, but my family found so many birds and wind a bit much- so this is a personal preference. I was in heaven.

the most thoughtfully renovated place I’ve ever seen, every detail is stunning, every crevice an architectural marvel and art gallery. I would buy this place tomorrow if it were for sale. it’s magical
