How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The owners of the property are exceptional. We were able to arrange for them to pick us up from the airport and they gave us many recommendations on where to eat in town. This is a small but very safe town with a few restaurants and shops. The accommodations were very spacious and very clean. I throughly enjoyed my stay here and would definitely rebook if I ever visited Athens again!

Everything you could possibly need was in the apartment, Souzana was amazing, friendly and she explained everything, and Tassos transported me from and to the airport. All super efficient. I can’t recommend them enough. The location was ideal, with all amenities close by and very safe.

Suzanne the host was brilliant before and during our stay, a lovely person to deal with. The apartment is a minutes walk from everything you want in Marcopoulo. An ideal location for travelling to the airport as it is about ten minutes. There are many cafes and tavernas to choose from all within less than five minutes walk.

We regret we could not stay longer...
Great location to shops, bars, cafe's, as well as an easy drive to Athens international airport. However, it was our host, that made our stay so special. Nothing was too much trouble for her, even after we had left, she helped us when another situation arose during our holiday. We look forward to our next trip to Greece and staying again. 10 out of 10!

Everything was perfect. The owner is very kind and helpful. She had placed in the property croissants , juices, wine, espresso with no charge. Very clean and fully renovated, modern style. Value for money. Near the airport. Friendly neighbourhood with all amenities nearby. Excellent!!!

I couldn't have asked for better hosts! This property exceeded my expectations in every way. The apartment was beautifully updated, clean and walking distance to anything you could need. Safe area for anyone traveling alone. Will definitely be staying here again!

That I had to leave...😍
There are no words to describe this amazing place! A perfect apartment, with a great design, with all the equipment you can imagine and more. If you have to give stars to an apartment, then the place deserves 10 shining stars!! The host, Susana, is charming and makes sure that the guests don't miss anything! She leaves a lot of light refreshments, coffee, drinks and more for the guests to enjoy, and recommends any topic of interest in the area of the small and nice city. And in the morning Susanna and her husband arrived early to drive me to the airport! I highly recommend, it is a privilege to stay in such a great place.
