The front desk ladies were so sweet the place so peaceful and beautfiul. Jacuzzi was perfect after a nice hike nearby. I would recomend this place to anyone

We had an issue with the hot tub, and they helped in sorting this out as best as they possibly could.

Truly amazing service from the three ladies on the desk and the one lady in the restaurant, they went above and beyond for us to have an amazing stay. They asked before we came what was our plan and when we sat down they already advised on the best options for us. So far, the best service I have had from any hotel/apartment. The view was incredible, the rooms are amazing (we got to see 2 of them due to an issue), really peaceful and clean. The restaurant on site is amazing and the tavern just up the road is a must. We packed are holiday full of sight seeing and the gorge walk, we wish we had one day just to completely chill at this place! Thank you so much, this will be somewhere if I have ever visit Crete again that I must come back too!

The location was exceptionally beautiful, peaceful, and immaculately clean. The entire vibe was beyond perfect for the entirety of our five day stay. The staff, Christo, Christo, Georgia and others were beyond description, they contributed greatly to our experience, both in their constant willingness to provide a perfect service as well as in their knowledge of the area, Greek culture, and local things to do. We have already suggested this incredible place to our friends. We could not have had a better experience.

We didn't stay for longer...

We received a really warm reception from Georgia who along with Georgia no.2 made our stay so enjoyable. Our apartment with hot tub in the original part of the Retreat was amazing with views out across the white mountains...breakfast in the new building was really well done and an off site taverna just up the hill was fantastic. My wife and I travelled with our two dogs 🐕 and stayed for three nights. The Retreat is only about a ten minute drive down into Sougia with its long wide pebble beach ⛱️ with views out across the Libyan Sea....the village itself has an ATM mini market and a few traditional Cretan tavernas. On our last day we were leaving by boat and I had forgotten my WiFi device....ten minutes later Georgia had arranged for it to be delivered to the port....a really special place with special people ❤️...we loved it !

nothing but you should know the restaurant is outside so if it’s autumnal rainy weather as we had in October, be ready to eat the delicious meal from the restaurant in your room (it will be brought to you).

even thought it rained throughout our stay, the rooms are really comfortable and the views from the terraces are beautiful. We were able to sit outside undercover on our private terrace and watch the rain and clouds role over the mountains. Really relaxing. The staff are also lovely and happy to help with anything you need.

A beautiful sanctuary in the tranquil heart of wild Cretan countryside. Exceptional and gracious service from the staff makes you feel special from the moment you arrive. Amazing views from the lovely studio apartment (we had one of the ‘older’ ones so imagine the new suites are even more special) On site restaurant served wonderful food, and a short walk behind the hotel through the abandoned village is an amazing village taverna with spectacular views (do not miss this!) Excellent location for the incredible local gorge walks.

The shower could have been a bit bigger.

Excellent accommodation (guesthouse) providing everything you need. We loved everything about the style of this place. The staff were really friendly and accommodating. My favourite thing about our stay were the exceptional views from our balcony and the quiet surroundings. The balcony is a good size with a nice hot tub. If you're looking for relaxation this is the place. The taverna in Moni village has delicious traditional Cretan food, definitely worth a visit.

The steep stairs in our apartment (#2) was a little challenging, as there was no banister. Also the low doorway caught us a few times, so tall people beware... For sun worshippers, the shaded terrace of this apartment might be a disadvantage.

A beautifully designed, unique apartment (#2), very peaceful with views over the rural valley and hills. Great attention to detail throughout. There's a restaurant at the hotel, with an excellent although small menu. You can also have your meal delivered to your room at no extra charge. And there's a lovely taverna 5 minutes walk up through the old village. Sougia is a ~10 min drive down the hill, with plenty more restaurants and the lovely beach. There are many hiking trails in the area, we only did the fairly easy hike from Sougia to Lissos. It was a hot day and the swim in the clear rocky cove at Lissos was the best of the holiday... Definitely need good shoes for that walk, some clambering involved. And plenty of water. We were able to take a taxi boat back (6 euro each) despite best intentions of hiking back... We also took a boat over to Tripiti beach, lovely rocky coves there too. The water was a little chilly at the end of May. Temperatures were climbing quickly though, in the low 30s.

Beautiful site with large rooms. Perfect for a couple. I enjoyed cycling in the local area once I had got out of the car park. The hot tub was a bonus.

The only bad thing is that the jacuzzi wasn’t operating properly , the power was really low but it was really late at night to ask someone to check it out . Generally it was an amazing mountain view place to relax , ideal for couples .I totally recommend it !

Great people at the reception !they greeted us with a smile and gave us all the information we needed. The room was beautiful like an old house but with a really modern touch . The spa was absolutely private and included in the price , perfect for a couple that is looking for a relaxing space . The yard was totally private so we had the chance to enjoy our jacuzzi at any time . Also ,the breakfast (not included in the price ) was really tasty and you can enjoy it at your room .

Besides the lovely apartment with an own jacuzzi I would first like to mention the extraordinary staff. Everyone at the reception and also in the restaurant is extremely kind and helpful. We felt welcome from the first second and really enjoyed our stay. As guests of the guesthouse you can use the Spa and the restaurant of the hotel and also can order your food to be delivered to the room. We prepared our own breakfast, but we ate at the restaurant for dinner and the food was really delicious.
