Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

UkraineMy partner and I recently stayed at Hotel Monastik Living in Athens, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. This hotel is perfectly situated for exploring Athens. Our suite was perfect for a couple, offering a marvelous view and a small kitchen equipped with all the essentials, including a Nespresso coffee machine that was a lifesaver for our mornings. The room also featured multiple functional controls for adjusting lighting and air conditioning, making our stay extremely comfortable. If it weren't for our plans to explore Athens, we could have easily spent the whole day relaxing in our suite. One of the highlights of the hotel is the rooftop with a jacuzzi that offers a picturesque view of the Acropolis. This meant we could enjoy the iconic sight without waiting in long lines. My only suggestion would be to extend the jacuzzi's operational hours until 11 PM (currently 9 AM to 9 PM) to allow guests to relax after a full day of sightseeing. The hotel is situated in a lively area within walking distance of restaurants, bars, and mini markets. Although the nearby street is busy and noisy during the day, the rooms are well soundproofed, ensuring a peaceful stay. I highly recommend trying their breakfast basket, which is ample for two people. The 24/7 chat support via WhatsApp was incredibly convenient for any questions or needs. I want to especially highlight Dimitra's exceptional efforts to accommodate us and assist with anything we needed. A big thanks also to Galya, the cleaning lady, for her friendly chats and tips on what to do in Athens. The entire staff was welcoming and polite, even the workers who were installing something in another suite. In summary, Hotel Monastik Living exceeded our expectations. A few areas for improvement would be extending the jacuzzi hours and allowing guests to arrange room cleaning within a narrower time frame or to cancel it altogether. Despite these minor points, our stay was fantastic.

SpainIt’s not a big complain but there’s a step down from the kitchen to the beds. That is in room 14. It’s easy to misstep when you’re not paying attention .
Everything . There’s no restaurant or anything but everything is walking distance away . Yanni is so helpful n lovely and so are the rest of the staff . The decor is amazing and we were gobsmacked by how unusual and yet homely it was . Whatever you may need is available in the room for a short stay . The spa on the roof looking at the Acropolis is out of this world . Definitely will be back there if we’re in Athens . Thank you 🙏🏻

United Arab EmiratesI'm sooooo happy I've tried their breakfast this time, it's so amazing , very nicely packed in a special wooden box, with tasty fresh ingredients, bringing special comfort in eating it in my room. Didn't expect such an experience to be so enjoyable and convenient! , will definitely make sure to order it again in my next stay!

United StatesI really liked everything, but here are some things you should be aware of. It's on a busy street, which by itself is not a problem. Once you get used to the pedestrian signals on the traffic lights, it's easy to walk around the area. And the hotel is well-built, so noise from the street doesn't intrude. But tours that say they'll pick you up at your hotel declined to pick us up, presumably because the street is too busy and narrow for buses to stop. Or maybe because technically it's not located downtown in the tourist area; again, for me is a plus. Also some taxi drivers didn't know where it is. Breakfast was good, but IMHO over-priced @ 19€ (IIRC) for a cold, boxed breakfast. After the first time, I would just stop at a convenience store (about a block away) the night before and buy yogurt, fruit, and juice for about 5€ and have it as the next day's breakfast. (I travel with my own tea bags.) The chambermaid cleaned up each morning. This is not a hotel in the traditional sense of having a main desk. The staff was there to greet us when we arrived, but often we had to contact them via What's App. They always responded within minutes, but don't expect something more traditional.
The room was fantastic -- essentially a large, studio apartment, with a view of the Acropolis. Compared to other places in Athens, it's a great bargain. The people who run it also are fantastic: friendly, helpful, smart, knowledgeable, and willing to go out of their way to help you. The place is spotless, modern, well-equipped, and very functional. Our room had a fridge, stovetop, microwave, toaster, water boiler, dishes, silverware, Greek olives, and a bottle of ouzo 😃. Several good restaurants are about a block away, but the neighborhood is out of the tourist mainstream; a real, nice residential neighborhood. Nonetheless, it's about a 10 minute walk from downtown Athens. A group of architects had their offices in the building, and then a bit over a year ago they decided to turn it into a hotel. This shows in the tasteful beauty of the rooms. If I had to summarize, I'd say you can tell the people who run the place went to architecture school, not hotel school. It's more like short-term apartment rentals than traditional hotel rooms. For me this is a plus.

United Arab Emirates"Monastik Living in Athina" is definitely a unique authentic boutique hotel built and designed from the heart with love! From the moment I walked through the doors, I felt surrounded with a sense of comfort and relaxation that continued throughout my entire stay. This hotel is beyond amazing; words fail to capture its uniqueness, warm and inviting atmosphere. Starting from the lovely welcoming basket of carefully selected ingredients, To the views, the design, the passionate staff, the beautiful interior that is decorated with a keen attention to every detail, creating a cozy and welcoming ambiance. The rooms are VERY clean and tastefully decorated with a mix of classic touches and advanced facilities. Everything was controlled digitally starting from check in/ accessing the room/ the roof/ the lighting...etc Great location with a walking distance to the best historical attractions. I can't get over the magical moment of watching the sunset from the rooftop jacuzzi with a stunning view of Acropolis! Such a romantic getaway and a peaceful escape, just the right place for creating wonderful memories! Can't wait for my next stay!

United StatesI'm so glad I came across this hotel. I ended up staying an extra week (two weeks total), upgrading to a room with a view on the acropolis. The staff was lovely, checking in with me daily for breakfast requests, which they delivered the next morning at whatever time I wanted. I needed laundry done twice, it was ready the next day. The housekeeping staff even sewed on a button that one of my shirts had been missing. Both of my rooms were great, with no noise from the streets below. The rooms/suites are like mini apartments. You have all the amenities you need for short or long stays alike. There's plenty of storage and a small kitchen if you want to shop for snacks. The housekeeping staff does an excellent job at cleaning every day. The location is great as well, 10-15 minute walk from the center and to the acropolis. It's also 10 minutes walk away from Pangrati, which is one of the trendier neighborhoods in Athens with cool restaurants and bars. For warmer months, the hotel is also a block away from the main boulevard that leads directly to the city's beaches (30-40 minutes). The hotel has a shared rooftop with an amazing view of the acropolis, along with a jacuzzi and lounge chairs to hang out in the sun or in the shade. I didn't get much use out of these during my stay because it was a bit chillier and because I was running around to see family, local museums, and other touristic activities. In the summer, however, I would have taken advantage of the rooftop much more.

United KingdomDidn’t love that the property gives out to a busy road and it’s immediate surrounding, but this is quickly forgotten once in the building as soundproofing was top notch and within walking distance to most amenities.
Overall an AMAZING stay - Boutique hotel vibes, the most beautifully designed rooms I’ve stayed at, with all home comforts you need. Even a mini kitchenette! Truly felt like coming home after a long day. A rooftop terrace offering a jacuzzi with views overlooking the sunset the Acropolis was a perfect spot to relax. There isn’t a bar or restaurant here, intentionally, as to incentivize experiencing Athens like a local. The host/owner’s was always readily available and keen to help. Just a couple blocks away on Anapafseos, there is a selection of markets, coffee shops, restaurants and bars. Conveniently located, about 10 mins walk to reach Acropolis/Plaka or Panathenaic Stadium, and less than 20 mins walk to Ermou in Monasteraki/Syntagma.

United StatesThe surroundings of the bldg itself is not great.... it is walking distance to Acropolis and all the great places for dining and shopping.
We stayed for only 1 night. The room is outstanding, the design and decor are superb, done with the idea of getting a "WOW" from you at many instances. They have thought of everything to make you stay feel luxurious, everything is top notch, nothing was done cheaply or in a rush to meet the basics. What you get vs what you pay is unbelievable. The view of the Parthenon from your bed beats anything!

We had a very warm welcome at check-in, the owner showed us around our room and the rooftop terrace in a very pleasant way. The Acropolis view from the room is exactly as advertised and the view from the rooftop terrace is breathtaking. A perfect experience, with a very cosy, modern, very clean room, a breathtaking view and an owner that really cares about your experience. SpainThe property is brand new, we were among the first guests to stay and is from now my favourite place to stay in Athens. Upon arrival a welcome basket was awaiting for us, the place and the room were spotless clean and the design is amazing with many personal touches. The room is honestly something of a work of art. But what stole the show was the view of the Acropolis from the room. It’s even better than what the pictures show. The suite is fully equipped with everything you might need. We strolled around the adjacent streets and you have many options to have a drink or eat something. Monastik is a must if you usually dream to stay where the architecture front pages are made, and not only. We will be sure back!
