How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

nothing really, it was all lovely.
what a gem ! Lovely home from home, with a marvellous host, Katerina, who was so helpful with local knowledge and suggestions as well as sharing a few tasy morsels with us. It was a spur of the moment idea to stay over, rather than just do a day trip as we originally planned. We will cretainly back and hopefully for longer next time.

This is just one room where parents and kids sleep together, so limited privacy
Very tastefull and elegant place, clean, good location in the village, nice host, the price includes daily cleaning, parking next to the apartment on the street, we had nice balcony with a tree next to it

Host welcoming. Fantastic balcony for breakfast. Everything we needed was there. Lovely hot showers Short walk to waterfront restaurants. Fantastic value for money

It was just a perfect stay, nothing that we didn’t like.
It is located in a very quiet area, yet very (VERY) close to everything you might need. The property is beautiful, with a large terrace equipped to have a meal, coffee or just chill out. The room is cozy, spacious, fully renovated and SO CLEAN! It is fully equipped with anything you would need and more. Bed is super comfy and with quality linen. To top it all, Katerina is one of the kindest hosts I’ve ever had. She made sure all our needs were met. Would recommend this place to any traveler and will for sure come back. Lovely experience!

Slightly smaller room than a standard Greek room, but very clean and tidy. Hospitality of the owner was incredible. she was very kind and thoughtful.

Very clean, close to village center but on a quiet street, there were 2 terraces that we could use. Lady of the house cleaned our room after the first night, didn't expect that since we only stayed for 2 nights, but it was nice.

Katarina doesn't speak English, but her warm-hearted smile and kind generosity speak all languages of the world. The cooled watermelon would be enough for me, but she even gave us the beach set, so we could be away from the sunbeds/crowds - which is priceless! The Elafonisos experience simply wouldn't be the same without her thoughtful generosity.

Found this via booking and I absolutely loved it! Very clean rooms, amazing location-walking distance from the city center. The hostess was lovely and I will definitely stay there whenever I will go to Elafonissos! She welcomed us with, cold water and fresh watermelon. Absolutely great!

This is the go to place to stay in Elafonisos. Katerina is more than a great hostess and such a great personality! It was great to meet her! We felt a very warm welcome even from the phone when she took the time to give us proper directions to reach the island and she took great care of us during the stay. The rooms are sparkling clean and everything is very fresh and comfortable.The generosity and hospitality is next level. We left with the promise to come back :) Thank you for your great hospitality Katerina and Mulberry House!

What can I say. Katerina is an absolutely wonderful hostess. She couldn’t do enough for us. Our room was immaculate, with everything we needed to make breakfast. We were treated to Katerina’s warm homemade Loukoumades one morning. Mouth watering. The location was perfect. Just a few minutes walk from the seafront & harbour. Katerina offered to do our washing & when we returned, our clothes were ironed & neatly folded on our bed. She really made our holiday. She is true kindness personified. Xx

The room was perfect and when I say perfect I mean really full of love. Catherine the host she is the Hart of the island, she is an amazing person and lovely with children. I raccomend this place to every person is looking for joy. Enjoy! Love Sonia and family
