Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceThere is not much natural light in the Dioni room, so we usually stepped out in the mornings to make sure the sun was shining!
Everything was brilliant, very clean and the host was so accommodating, helpful and generous. We really had a wonderful time!

United StatesChurch bells at 7 am on some days could be an issue for noise sensitive people. I didn’t mind as I was up early to explore and it was not too loud with the windows closed.
Beautiful room, super comfortable bed, awesome jetted tub! Felt safe and secure as a solo female traveler. Wonderful staff and easy check in, loved it!

CanadaNo elevator. Not a big problem for us - but for guests with mobility issues - this might be a concern.
Loved staying at this hotel. Very nicely decorated. Very comfortable. The receptionist was extremely helpful and sweet. She took great care of us. Great location in Chania - short walk into old Chania, short walk to the main bus stop for some excursions outside of Chania

United KingdomOur room was on ground floor with its entrance from the road. This was good from access point of view especially as we are of an age where suitcases up large number of steps is an issue however this meant we had only a little frosted glass light from outside and noise from the walkway outside. The walls were also quite thin and we could hear sometimes strange scraping noises from neighbours. If we went back we would pay for a room on the next floor with a balcony and take only hand luggage. It is a lovely hotel just some issues one needs to consider.
Nice room very large exceptional staff

United KingdomAbsolutely nothing! It was 10/10 perfect!!!
It is a beautifully decorated property making it very medieval but modern at the same time. The attention to detail from the lobby, dining area and rooms were lovely and was the perfect boutique hotel. The Dione room was like a small apartment with seperate rooms along with a courtyard veranda from the bedroom. The tv was equipped with Netflix, Amazon Prime and YouTube etc which was perfect for when you’re getting ready or resting for an hour before heading out. The AC works perfectly and easily too! I cannot get over the location, it was simply the best area in Chania as it’s a street away from the busy and vibrant little streets where the best restaurants bars and shops were. Then you carry on for less than 5 mins and you arrive are the harbour which is stunning. The hotel itself really made our Crete trip special as our memories start from there. For the rooms which don’t have a balcony you don’t need to worry as there is an incredible outdoor rooftop space to have drinks and enjoy the sunset. If you are exploring Cretes beaches and excursions then the KTEL bus station is an easy 10 mins walk and are able to do trips for cheap everywhere such as Balos, Seitan Limania, Stavros, Elafonisi, Kavros, Falassarna, Kissamoss beaches amongst other places such as Rethymno, Georgeopolis (famous Santa Claus church). On route you are met with amazing juice bars such as GROOT and many Iced Coffee and Patisserie places. Lastly, the women at reception who was in touch with us before we arrived via WhatsApp was exceptional. she really went out of her way to help and accommodate us and give recommendations. We were delayed in travelling due to the Air Traffic control situation in the UK so we lost a day due to this but she did everything to help us feel secure and welcomed.

United KingdomThe room is beautiful and the private roof terrace was wonderful to have, especially for doing a bit of star gazing at night when it was cooler! The host is wonderful and made sure we wanted for nothing. Our favourite part was that she texted us with some recommendations for restaurant around Chania. Several of which we tried and all of which were amazing! They were the highlight of our stay in Chania.

AustraliaI can’t say enough good things about Nobili! To start, Freedom the receptionist went above and beyond to ensure we could check in smoothly late at night, as well as answering all our questions. She gave us so many great recommendations for restaurants and beaches in the area. The location was perfect, super close to everything you need and just tucked away from all the crowds. The room was fab, really spacious, gorgeous terrace and thoughtful touches (wine and fruit, robes etc). Will absolutely come back next time we are in Chania!
