How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The pool closes at 8 PM so we couldn't enjoy it when we returned from the beach after sunset. The wifi was poor quality, we couldn't use it. The beds were very uncomfortable in the living room (we don't have big needs though).
Flexible check in, nice oasis style garden with a pool and cool coctail bar, quiet area, very kind and welcoming host. There was a big terrace where we had breakfast and dinner with a view of the mountains and olive tree field. There is free parking on the street or at the olive tree field. Also there is a mini library of books from where you can borrow for the beach so you will not be bored. :)

The lovely host Stella made sure everything was to your needs. She would go above and beyond to answer your questions and check online if restaurants are open.

The bathroom in my room is rather small but as I was a lone traveler it was adequate for my needs.
Having stayed at this apartment before I was expecting the same offer for breakfast, but this time was offered some variety through the stay.

The position is not perfect unless you dispose of a vehicle. Last part of the road is not illuminated and pedestrian path is missing. All together becomes a bit unsafe if you're coming back by feet.

Simple hotel, not very well situated (along the main road). Some rooms were noisy due to the trafic, but with closed windows it was absolutely acceptable. We had a double room with sight on the olive trees, it was quiet, and had a very nice wooden terrace. The room itsself was a little too small for our needs. We found the price a little overevaluated according to Cretan standards, but it seems that the whole Plakias region may be a little more expensive that other more remoted places. There are nice possibilities to stay in the (very nice garden) of the hotel. The hotel has also a small taverna, where we could buy drinks. They serve breakfast, but we didin't tried it. The swimming pool is really good looking and give to this establishment a somehow "out of time" touch. In 3 minutes with the car, you can go to the main Plakias beach.

The host (Stella) was amazing from the beginning. She made sure that me and my family was comfortable and had everything for our family vacation. Her hospitality was remarkable. This is my second stay at Oasis and still tops the other stays I have had. Thank you for taking care of my family Stella.

Maybe close vicinity.of the busy road is the only negative.
Great place if you have a car, to visit nearby gorges and beaches. Also superb host - Stella, very helpful. Palm trees and other plants very picturesque in the swimming pool area.

can definitely recommend oasis, exceptional service from stella - rooms are clean and tidy and very good value for money - the pool is an extra bonus. the only thing i would say is it is a bit of a walk into town but it didn’t bother us too much.

Nothing. It would be awesome if the pool bar could make simple mixed drinks. I think it would be an amazing investment/revenue.
There are so many things I enjoyed about my stay…… 1st is Stella, the hostess. She truly went above and beyond with ensuring my stay was amazing. She was always there for me and other families at the apartment. Her kind and generous personality made my stay one I will not forget. 2nd is the rooms and area in general, they were very clean and well kept. I loved my stay!

It is a little bit far away from center, you need to walk 15-20min, but it wasn’t problem for me and my friend.
We had wonderful time in Plakias and Oasis apartments. Nikos is really great host, he was there for all our questions. Room was clean and large with huge terrace. Pool is clean and surrounding is lovely.
