Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThe only thing was that the room was a bit dark, but thats because we boooked the highest room. Some lights were broken.
The location was perfect, housed in renovated Greek Ottoman appartements near the Jewish neighbourhood of Veria. The breakfast was perfect and the staff so friendly. When the weather is better ill visit Veria once more

United StatesNot a big deal, but the staircase leading up to the room was pretty steep and might be tough for a person with mobility issues. It was a little tricky to haul larger suitcases because of it.
We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to other travelers. The room was a bit cozy for three people but for a one-night stay it was just fine. The room was nicely furnished and very clean. The beds were comfortable and we had everything we needed for a nice stay. The breakfast the next morning was lovely and having it delivered to the room was convenient. The location was easy enough to get to and we were thankful to have a parking spot right out front.

GreeceThere are not a lot of parking spots reserved for the rooms but didn’t face any difficulty finding one around.
Comfortable and with great decoration rooms. The location was also great. Most of the times taking your car is not needed.

United KingdomRather odd to have to agree the time for breakfast the night before and then have it brought to our room. No food choice. We were in room 103 which was quite small.
Nice quiet location on the edge of the Jewish Quarter. Very clean. Felt safe and secure. Kettle in room was very useful.

UkraineThe entire old city with narrow streets is lined with cars so that the likelihood of getting through them to the hotel without damage is extremely low, so we damaged a headlight when making a left turn at the entrance to the hotel. In the city, most cars are scratched. Parking is very difficult from the front of the hotel; we barely found a space in the large parking lot above. But on the other side of this house there are more free places, but we didn’t know that. It would be nice to indicate the path to this place.
Excellent hotel, wonderful and helpful staff, very romantic place, the entire old town is within walking distance. However, if you want breakfast in your room, you must inform about this the previous day.

United KingdomIt was a little difficult to find and the self-check-in was a bit of a faff (I prefer to check in with a receptionist).
A good quiet location in the old Jewish Quarter and just down from the town centre. In a historic building, the room was rustic and comfortable. The breakfast, brought to us in our room, was excellent.

Breakfast was delicious ! The location was in the most interesting neighborhood of Veria. I was sad we left after only one night.

AustraliaVery difficult to find and the streets in this area are very narrow and congested. Hotel itself had a lovely outlook but did take a long time to find it - NOT the hotel's fault!
Staff very welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. Room atmospheric, thoughtfully fitted and an overall delight. Intimate nature of a very well-appointed small boutique hotel

RomaniaDidn’t like the breakfast served in the room because of the small space: was only one chair and a small desk. The lights are very low/dim and need more natural lights.
Like the desingn of the room, the bed and the position of the location.

United KingdomOur booked room claimed - misleadingly - to have a 'patio'. This turned out to be a small tiled area with no outdoor furniture and was completely useless. Breakfast is served in your room and, in the case of our booked room, would have been awkward to eat as the room contained just one chair and a very small table. After some communication with the owners, we were moved to another, much better room with outdoor space and furniture. The bed was comfortable but set on the floor rather than on a frame so was difficult to get in and out of. Check-in is at 1500 but reception closed at 1200 so nobody was physically on the premises to help on arrival.
Great location in an historic area with just a short walk to the town centre. Excellent breakfast (but perhaps a little too much). Our booked room was dark and not as described (see what I didn't like) but we were moved to a much bigger and brighter room with a view over the river. Veria is an interesting town with many Ottoman-era buildings but most are badly neglected and, in some cases, literally falling down. In nearby Vergina is the tomb of Phillip of Macedon, Alexander the Great's father - an absolute must-visit.

United KingdomCheck in is from 3pm but the reception closes at 3 so there is nobody around. I had checked parking was available at the time of booking and had emailed in the morning to check how to obtain a parking card to park in the street outside but had received no information about this by the time we arrived (shortly after 3) and there was nobody to ask. So we had to drop off bags and park in an underground parking 10 mins away. The helpful receptionist reimbursed our parking charge but it would have been much easier to park just outside. Information about where to find the card should have been provided earlier.
Breakfast was good and we loved the terrace looking over the old quarter. Great to have a little seating area and fridge etc and the aircon was very welcome.
