Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Gorgeous, traditional property in a beautiful little village. Dimitra was so helpful and friendly. Would highly recommend if you are looking to escape the crowds and overly touristy spots elsewhere on the island. You’ll have lots of feline friends too!

GreeceI honestly can't think of anything.
Dimitras' accommodation was one of the highlights of our stay. The actual cave house we stayed in was perfectly renovated but was simultaneously authentic to its past. There is nothing I can think of that was missing in the house, maybe only that the internet connection was a bit intermittent. We absolutely loved the front yard, spacious with several sitting spots perfect for different parts the the day, not to mention the terrace with deckchairs for winding down and sunset watching. There are a couple of cats that like hanging out in the yard too, very well-behaved and thankful for a few biscuits - hopefully they will be sterilized ;) Dimitra was on hand for anything we needed, she went over and above. We only stayed for 4 nights, but on the second day she topped up our orange juice supply and basic snacks too, which I was very surprised by!

AustraliaEverything - could not fault it.. We feel like the luckiest people to have stay at Olyra. The review is long but so are the things to compliment so by all means keep reading but book it now - don’t wait! Firstly the hosts communication was impeccable, she offered to assist us with an airport transfer which was greatly appreciated. We were met in the Pyrgos square by a lovely young man who helped us with our bags the short walk to our accommodation and showed us the place. The stay included breakfast items which were greatly appreciated. As luck would have it they had an extreme wind event which caused a few hours without power. The host was checking on us straight away and continually. The highlight by far was the stunning property. It was comfortable and homely and absolutely breathtaking and traditional. The young man told us the house used to serve as the bakery for the village and it felt like living history we had the privilege to stay at. The walk through the town was charming and breathtaking, the cats were a charming addition and the minimart down the street had all essentials for us considering some restaurants were closed during off season. If we ever came back to Santorini it would be to Pyrgos and never leave! Thankyou.

United StatesIt’s a bit of a climb, but the whole town is a bit of a climb, filled with winding streets, alleys and interesting nooks.
The cave house was charming, nicely appointed with pots, pans and food. It also had an easy to get to roof for stargazing.

I liked everything about the property. It is clean. The hostess is very friendly. Everything about the place is charming - architecture, furniture and decor. The place is quiet and peaceful. Also, the courtyard and the terrace is a lovely place to have breakfast. The hostess provides traditional Greek juice, cookies, granola bars, rusk, bread, cheese, lunch meat, eggs, coffee and tea.

United StatesIt was a bit of a trek over uneven cobblestone paths to get to the house. You cannot drive right up to it. But that’s what makes it more charming and away from crowds.
Olyra is adorable! We really felt like we traveled back in time, living as locals do. There was a rooftop deck as well with lovely views. Dimitra was so kind and hospitable!

United KingdomWe had a lovely stay at Olyra Cave Houses. The calm, cool interior was full of character, clean and comfortable, with lovely beds and fabulous outdoor space. The house we had felt much bigger than it looks on the photos. Dimitra is a kind, helpful and friendly host who just loves the house and loves welcoming visitors. She answered all our queries incredibly quickly and helped us arrange transfers from the port and to the airport. Pyrgos is possibly my favourite place in Santorini, along with Oia, and was peaceful even in July. Olyra Cave Houses are in a perfect location, within a very short stroll of cafes and tavernas. We will definitely return!

PortugalAll perfect if you have a car or don't mind taking a bus to the beaches, Oia and Thyra. Always good to check your budget and plan your trip before booking anything. : )
The place is beautiful, clean and very comfortable. The location is good and nice, but it's better when you have your own car. There are some buses, but it depends where you wanna go. We rented a car from the airport and dropped off at the port, so it was totally fine for us. There are some mini markets, shops and restaurants by walking distance. I very much recommend this place!

CroatiaI cannot put into words how much we loved and enjoyed this place! I will reccommend it to everyone, the place is perfect, cosy, clean (and cleaned daily!), Dimitra was very helpful in organizing transportation and all else. Pyrgos is definitely the best place on the entire island and perfect as a starting point for exploring Santorini. P.S. To anyone reading this review, make sure you try the breakfast platter at Brusco ;)

ItalyThe stairs. There are many steps to get to the Olyra, however, majority of the places in Greece have stairs and steep pathways.
I loved everything about the Olyra. It's spacious and cozy. The cave style is great, especially in the bathroom. I liked the fact that the bedroom had a blue "balcony door and windows" that separated the sleep area from the living area. Very unique. Dimitra, the host, is an amazing lady. Super nice, very friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend this place!

PolandDimitra is the perfect host! Staying in her house is a real treat. I adore such places, with hisotry, traditions. Dimitra welcomed us in the middle of the night even though our plane was late, she helped me with the luggage, she helped us book airport transport both ways. She made sure to leave the fridge filled which was a great surprise, and a great convinience. (Though be sure to stop by the bakery in the morning just a short walk away - really good bread!) Very clean! cleaned daily. You can just smell the fresh laundry. Dimitra, thank you so much for adding to the whole experience. I am possitive that if I come back - I will make sure your cave house is available. I cannot imagine staying anywhere else.
