How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The host was outstanding! Extremely attentive, helpful and personable. At a late hour dropped us by a beautiful restaurant on the ocean. Our booking was very last minute because of a travel glitch. Very convenient for Athens airport.

Very friendly hosts, they offered transfer from and to the airport according to our schedule. The instructions were detailed and clear. The rooms are super clean. A wonderful place to stay. Would definitely recommend it to our friends.

We loved the place !
Great and specious apartment just a short drive from the airport. The beds are comfortable The living room and kitchen space are big and has everything you need. The host is super nice and prepared cookies and fruits for us. He also suggested a transfer from and to the airport. That was amazing ! The house itself is very quiet And we slept very well !

Great location close to airport in a private and quiet location ! Host was very friendly and kind - went out of her way to help us on our journey! Accommodations were modern, spacious and very clean.

We liked everything about the apartment the name is exactly what it is a perfect home for relaxing before our flight the next day! Fully equipped, lovely touches, bowl of oranges, jar of sweets which our kids loved! Netflix. Tea and coffee. Beds were very comfortable. The host Maggie was so accommodating and helpful and quick to respond to our messages, she also recommended food to be delivered which was delicious. We will definitely use again when we need an overnight stay before a flight and will recommend to friends also. Thank you for a great stay in your lovely home. Michele, Billy & kids from Kos.

Whilst we were only in the room for a few hours as we had an early flight in the morning, the appartment is exactly what we hoped it would be. The owner, Allesandro, met us at the property and explained all we needed to know. He was very helpful for our flight in the morning explaining the times we should aim to be at the airport. The property is lovely, in a quiet neighbourhood 10 minutes from the airport. The rooms were very clean and fully equiped. It would certainly cater for a family. I will definitely use this apprtment again as I travel to Athens on business quite a lot.

I didn't stay at the property. I booked this property for my sister's family and am giving feedback on her behalf. They were picked up and taken care of by the hosts. The hose was clean, well equipped and homely. The location was perfect and it gave my family the perfect refuge after their travels.

It was entirely good.
A seamless transition to the airport. Maggy and Alessandro are serious hosts. They are there to ensure all is well The place is comfortable and immaculate. Many guests who stay with them are making airport connections, as we were, but when we asked for a good taverna nearby, they directed us to a memorable, atmospheric restaurant which extended our wonderful, Greek experience to the very last We like a firm mattress and were perfectly comfortable sleeping. In the morning we made delicious coffees using their espresso maker. All went seamlessly. The ride to the airport was stressless and quick. Thank you, Maggy and Alessandro! We would definitely stay with you again!

I can honestly say that after 40 years of travelling all over the world, Alessandro & Maggy are the best hosts I have ever met. They are lovely and nothing is too much effort for them. We stayed for 5 days as attending a trade show, and despite being there for work, managed to visit the local beach and a few restaurants...all of which was lovely. We also enjoyed a magnificent breakfast every day from the local bakery that Alessandro drove us to and from each day. I hope to go back soon with my family as the combination of a large local beach with crystal clear water and Athens being just 45 mins away, is the perfect combination.

We like the location near the airport. The apartment was newly renovated, clean, and very spacious. Most importantly, the owners were very helpful with local information and advice. They even picked us up at the airport for 20€.
