Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

United StatesThe grocery store was a little far away to carry groceries.
The hosts were very nice and the apartment was well appointed, we had everything we needed. It is on a very steep hill, but we had easy access to a bus line that stopped just a block away.

Netherlands- The apartment didn't have a coffee machine. - If you have a strong eye for detail like me, you notice many small things in the house need fixing or replacing and would really not take more than 5 minutes work. That would increase the comfort so much!
- The balcony is the pearl of the house. I spent every morning there having breakfast and enjoying the view. And every day the view was different. Beautiful! - For me as a marathoner it was no problem walking to the public transport every day down the main street. There are several options like metro, tram and bus that take you to the most important places. People who have less mobility might want to think twice; the apartment is in a very steep street and on a hill, for going down (and back up) you need to conquer 100 steps of stairs or have a car nearby. Know that you are quite far from the city center. For me this was my purpose, staying in a quiet neighborhood and enjoying traveling a bit each day. - Nice gesture of the hosts to leave some fruits and jam by arrival.

NetherlandsThe apartment is up the hill (hence the view), but it's quite a steep walk. However, the bus stops directly behind the building.
It's a nice, relatively big apartment with all the needed facilities.

Romaniathere is nothing to be impoved. the whole experience was excellent
The location is perfect: the bus station is 1 minute away, there are 2-3 restaurants at max. 5 minute walk, a grocery shop is also 5 minutes walk. With 915 bus and M3 metro you reach the center of Athens in max 40 minutes. The apartment is wonderfull - the interior design is beautifull, it is well equipped, very spacious, with a perfect view for real. The host is very nice and makes you feel welcome for real.
