Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomOnly drawback, which some may consider a feature, is that the whole property is on a quite steep slope.
Lovely combination of traditional and modern in a local village. The couple who run it are very helpful. Evening meals are freshly cooked.

PolandNothing in particular, going down from the parking lot is quite steep, at requires stamina on the way back there :-)
Everything was there - nice room, a pool (even not too small for an adult), a restaurant run by hosts (great salads), and narrow, but available parking places. On top of that, the location looks very remote but in the village, there are a few amazing restaurants. It's also very close to Knossos and Heraklion. And last by not least - hosts are very friendly and helpful.

PolandAmazing, atmospheric, typically Greek house with a family atmosphere. The rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean, well-equipped and charming. Delicious breakfast, lots of choice. I would highly recommend. It is really worth stopping here and feeling the beauty of this place.

ItalyParking could be handled little bit better, there was one car blocking 3 parking places, had to park on the street.
We did overnight stay. We have arrived late and the owner prepared for us very good and fresh Greek salad dinner. The room was clean and fitted 4 of us very easily. Pool looked inviting but we haven’t tried it due to lack of time.

IsraelStairs. When u leave the car in the parking, don't take ur suit case, it's dangerous path down. Only bring what u need.
We arrived at work 10pm very hungry, and they were so helpful and made us dinner. It felt like home. We even drank Raki together and provided us with fruit for dessert. The room was super clean and comfortable. Bring coffee with u. Breakfast was amazing. I eat Gluten free so they took my bread I bought from home and made me a toast. So sweet of them! Highly recommend.

Germanymissed a bit fresh food for breakfast (vegetable, fruit); communication with the owner can be tricky due to little English knowledge; the parking space location can be hard to maneuver due to little space and steep entry, with a small car it is okay, would not use it with big car
Comfortable, spacious room, cool traditional furnishing, pool looked nice and clean although we did not try it

LuxembourgVery beautiful house with apartments in typical Cretan style, enough space and large terraces. Perfectly clean and comfortable. Private parking. The pool is nice and clean. The food prepared by the hosts was very good, local meals home made by out host Evangelia. We had super nice evenings with the hosts as we were the only guests in this period. The place is close to Heraklion and we also traveled around to the mountains and sea in the South. We left real friends, thank you Evangelia and Niko! Hope to see you soon.

IrelandOur car was not powerful enough (Fiat panda) - parking was a struggle, we ended up going back down to the village after unloading as we felt it would have been too much of a hassle. We needed three tries to get back out of the hotel’s car park. Not the hotel’s fault of course! make sure your car is able 😃
The hosts were lovely and although communication was limited we got along well. Didn’t stay long enough but recommend it for a long stay. The apartment has all you need. The pool is great and the location ideal. Had the best sleep here, bed was fantastic and comfortable! Quiet, clean and cozy - what more do you need!

FranceWe stayed here for one night on the way from Heraklion to Kapetanina. It’s 20 minutes from Heraklion in a cute and traditional village. It’s a family hotel and the room is really nice and spacious with a traditional atmosphere. The host were really nice and they made us a really good breakfast for 8€/pers. We haven’t been to the pool because it was raining but the pool looks nice and is big. We highly recommend it.

United KingdomA charming hotel in a very traditional village. We ate in Semeli restaurant, which was a real gem and I fully recommend. The room was authentic and cosy, and the swimming pool was fantastic. We stayed here as we were travelling around Crete and wanted a stopover, and I’m so glad we did. Very untouristy, but still close to Heraklion with lots of local attractions, including wine-tasting. The hosts were very helpful. We had breakfast here and it was lovely.
